So, I’m heading in for a colonoscopy tomorrow. Following my doctor's orders, I used an Ex-Lax suppository around 6:00 PM tonight. It felt like it started kicking in after maybe twenty minutes—or at least, that's my gut feeling—but here’s the catch: the suppository itself came right out with my first movement. Is that actually normal? Or am I going to need to pop another one in?

I received mine while I was still at the hospital, and the staff made it quite clear that I simply had to keep moving and wait for things to start functioning properly again. Honestly, between the sheer intensity of the pain, I didn't give a single thought to the suppository—which, if my memory serves me correctly, is supposed to melt away 🤔—so I have absolutely no idea how you managed to realize what was happening to yours 😁

Furthermore, I am somewhat uncertain whether one is permitted to administer a second dose immediately... it certainly isn't specified in the instructions

Look, I checked the damage immediately after the first attempt—just an old, stupid habit of mine, honestly. But I’m not really in any actual pain, just that usual discomfort you get whenever you're dealing with diarrhea.

If it starts working, there's no need for more. However, if you find you still need to go, you could take another dose—provided you haven't had issues with potassium levels or dehydration before... just make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids...

pm.

Don't trouble yourself with this further; just go to sleep. 😉
