Extreme chauvinism on this topic

I would honestly love for a moderator to weigh in on the thread and explain how it is possible that, for two full days without any intervention or disciplinary action against the OP, an option remains in the poll that serves absolutely no purpose. It wasn't even mentioned by anyone or officially proposed as a potential name for the US Congress; rather, it exists solely as a chauvinistic mockery of people based on their heritage or birthplace—and by extension, the way they speak.

If this isn't the ultimate example of nitpicking for the sake of it—the kind of behavior this forum supposedly maintains a "zero tolerance" policy against—then I truly don't know what is.

There’s no chauvinism here, though it is a shame we don't have more local regional slang left to describe America and Americans.

I suppose it exists, if you define chauvinism as the belief that your own group is somehow inherently superior to everyone else.

Well, I think the poll creator definitely intended it that way—they included that option specifically to poke fun at us.

I have a suggestion: let’s swap this poll out for a different one featuring only two options—both using standard English—and make the results public so everyone can see how others voted. As it stands, the current format carries a somewhat joking or even insulting undertone, and frankly, it leaves us guessing what the community actually thinks about Reiner's initiative.

On the other hand, those big-shot Americans only earned that nickname because they always looked down their noses at us little guys, so I honestly don't see any issue with how the survey was conducted.

Well, I guess it all depends on who’s being insulted and who’s doing the insulting.
For instance, they have this rule against mass labeling people, and from what I can see, someone actually caught a ban for that.

It just goes to show that the rules are pretty much up for interpretation depending on who you ask.
