Hey there, mods...

I can't quite recall the exact timeline, but I think it’s been over six months since my partial ban from the Politics section.

So, here is what I’m thinking:

- Please lift the ban, but let's keep it 'partial'—meaning, leave me restricted from the local political threads. Honestly, thank God I’ve finally recovered from that particular brand of self-inflicted masochism...
Basically, if you do decide to let me back in eventually...

- I'd love to be able to jump into the World News discussions every now and then, if that's cool.
Local politics just isn't my thing anymore; I've officially entered 'self-preservation' mode. Between everything else going on, I really don't need the extra ulcer.

PS: I’m not really one for being humble, so this is probably the best version of an apology you're going to get.

Thank you

Technically speaking, we can't really let a user keep access to specific subforums if they’ve been hit with a partial ban at the root level. It just doesn't work that way. If she wants to be able to browse or jump into discussions in the Political landscape, European Union, World News, or Close politics sections, we’d have to lift that partial ban from the main Politics root first. You see, the subforums basically inherit everything from the main page—so once you block access to the root, that restriction automatically trickles down to all the sub-sections attached to it. On the flip side, though, it is totally possible to apply a partial ban to those specific subforums—like the Political landscape, European Union, World News, or Close politics—either to just one of them, a few, or even all of them, while still allowing her full access to the main root directory.

This means that in order to view or participate in the Politics, European Union, World, or close politics subforums the partial ban on the main Politics root needs to be lifted first. The subforums are nested under the main page, so blocking access to the root automatically carries over to all its sub-sections. On the other hand, it is possible to have a partial ban on those specific subforums—meaning Politics, European Union, World, or close politics—on one, some, or all of them, while still allowing full access to the root.

Thanks,

I didn't quite follow you at first, but I think I'm starting to get the gist after reading through this a few times...
Thank you.

Let me try again, just so I'm being clear: I'm asking if my ban on the general politics section could be lifted (though I'll probably just put a self-imposed ban on local politics 🙂🙂, since that usually just lands me in trouble anyway...
). What I actually care about is the 'World' section, thank you.

Thank you for your understanding
Sam King38

NB: Don't go thinking I'm assuming you've already forgiven me... I'm not that arrogant.

I'd say I'm expecting maybe a 50% chance of forgiveness... or perhaps even less than that...
Thanks

So?
What’s your actual answer here?

I know some users were asking for me to be allowed back into the 'World News' section.

Whatever you guys want to do... I don't really care either way...
It’s just getting weird (well, weirder) seeing how much you tolerate actual trolls—those paid shills who just babble about topics to push an agenda without ever being banned. They live on this forum without any issues at all.

Why was 'Thanks on fish' banned? And why haven't you ever banned 'Freedom,' even when it was painfully obvious he was just a blatant, bottom-feeding shill?
What you're doing isn't right... You've ruined this forum with your pathetic, cowardly attitude and total obedience.

Please, just answer me...
You little cowards...
