Jordan Spieth has to be kidding me. It’s going to be fascinating to watch how he handles the pressure tomorrow... honestly, at this point, Phil Mickelson is the only one I truly believe has the grit to actually threaten him.

Rose crushed it 🙏 🙏 Five birdies over the last six holes, and then Jordan Spieth drops a double bogey on the 17th. That gave everyone else a tiny glimmer of hope, but it doesn't change the fact that he’s sitting at a record -16 after three rounds...

If Phil Mickelson had sunk that birdie putt on the 18th, he’d probably be claiming he was going to absolutely dismantle that kid from the University of Texas. But looking at how things are playing out, Jordan Spieth has such a massive edge right now. He was hovering right there last year, but this time he’s arrived in peak form, and frankly, I don't see him letting this one slip away... It really puts things in perspective when you remember Tiger Woods stormed his first major at just 21 years old.

I’ve been debating this with myself all afternoon, but I might as well wrap it up: Jordan Spieth took it in the end. Bravo to the kid—his putting was absolutely clinical throughout the entire tournament. He missed maybe one absolute necessity on the final round, but his overall game was just top-tier. Honestly, he played so dominantly that he almost sucked the suspense out of the finish; he held a five or six stroke lead over Rose McGowan for most of that final round...

He was absolutely killing it on the greens all tournament long. Maybe he missed one absolute must-make putt in the final round, but his game was just solid. Honestly, he played so well he kind of sucked the drama out of it—he held a five or six stroke lead over Rose McGowan for most of that last round.

If you ask me, the real turning point was hole 13 during the first round (yeah, I know, that was Day 1, but still...). Spieth was already struggling a bit with those left-to-right shots, and then his drive ended up straight in the woods.
While everyone else was probably thinking he was in deep trouble—since people usually struggle to recover from that even if they're only two strokes down—his ball hit a tree and bounced right back onto the fairway. And then he capped it off with a birdie.
Sometimes you just need a little luck on your side, I guess.
But honestly, he earned it. He came into the tournament in great shape and stayed mentally tough. Plus, he kept things grounded by hanging out with his family and friends; after his rounds, they wouldn't even talk about golf at the house. They just played ping pong, hung out by the pool, and talked about anything else under the sun.

Is anyone actually following the US Open? I’m stuck in digital isolation until Sunday, so I’ve just been glued to the livescores. I’ll definitely be tuning in properly for the final round once I'm back online.
I see Tiger Woods is sitting ten over par after the first round... has he ever actually put up a worse scorecard at a major?

He did the same thing at The Open Championship back in 2002—ten over par then too (par was 70). And this year has already seen two other weird ones: he shot +11 (82) at the Phoenix Open and +13 (85) at the Memorial Tournament.
In his whole career, he’s only shot a 77 or higher once 17 times, and six of those ten worst rounds have happened just in the last three years.

I’m putting my money on Jordan Spieth. He’s got everything it takes—the pure talent, the mental toughness, and the sheer guts required at this level...
I honestly believe he could walk away with 10 or more majors if he just stays focused and doesn't fall into some kind of self-destructive habit or vice along the way....

Look, when Rory McIlroy plays like this, he’s absolutely unstoppable, but I can't help feeling like he didn't flip that switch into beast mode until it was already too late.
As for Jordan Spieth, he looks completely sluggish out there today—it's like he's running on empty. Come on, man, wake up...

What a finish last night 🙏:

My pick, Jason Day, was just out of sync and dropped out early.
After the 16th, it looked like Jordan Spieth had it locked down with a three-shot lead.
Then he hits that double bogey on 17 and suddenly everything goes sideways at the end.

Man, oh man, Dustin Johnson 🤦
A putt for the win, then a putt for a playoff 🤦
If nothing else, at least he won over Paulina Porizkova. I guess that's not a total loss.

edit
And I can't forget that Grace drive on 16 that went straight into the rough.🤦

is this guy from up north on the list?

Yeah.
His dad or grandpa probably has some sign in their garage saying they're Americans. But I guess HGS hasn't actually done anything about it yet.

Look, Freddy needs to get to Rio. Freddy is a legend. There’s plenty of time for Beljan.

And that guy Tim Petrovic, who does he even answer to?

As for that Tim Petrovic guy, where does he even come from?

He's originally from Mexico.

It’s a bummer Frank Nobilo isn't playing anymore, but I guess even now he’d probably be a better call than Beljan.

The Open is finally underway, and Dustin Johnson is already tearing it up with a -7 start.
It looks like things might get a little messy tomorrow, though, with some rain and heavier winds moving in.

It was pouring rain all morning, but things have finally cleared up and it’s absolutely gorgeous out now..
I’ve always had a soft spot for these massive sports series, so I’m sitting here rooting for Spieth to pull off his third straight win...

Adam Scott put on a hell of a performance today, played some really fine golf
