Daniel Robinson6 said:So, I was hooking up with my boyfriend the other day (pretty sure I was ovulating, too), and we didn't use any protection, though he pulled out before finishing. Is the pull-out method actually reliable, or am I basically playing Russian roulette with a pregnancy here? My cycle is usually pretty consistent, and I was expecting my period around the 26th. Honestly, I feel like I’m going through absolute hell with PMS right now: my lower back is aching, my left ovary keeps giving me these sharp little stabs, I’m bursting into tears for no reason, and I can't stop snacking. My breasts are super tender and hurt like crazy if anyone even brushes against them. I’ve also noticed some whitish discharge. But the weirdest thing—something that definitely isn't normal for me—is that I've been running a slight fever during the day, like around 99°F... then it vanishes overnight. Plus, I'm hitting the bathroom way more often than usual and my mouth feels constantly dry. Is there a real chance I'm pregnant, or is this just brutal PMS? I'm also freaking out because my period is late, and I can't tell if that's because I'm just incredibly stressed out about this whole situation. Is it too early to go grab a pregnancy test? Thanks in advance for the help, everyone!

It is entirely plausible that you're pregnant; that was my own experience. To give you some context, we used condoms during my ovulation window, but after about ten days of being apart, we were feeling a bit impulsive and opted out of protection once. He didn't finish inside me either, yet here I am, expecting a baby. I had every single physical sign that my period was imminent, but it simply hasn't arrived. Go ahead and take a test—for me, the two lines appeared almost immediately.

Daniel Robinson6 said:thanks... honestly, being pregnant isn't exactly how I pictured my life right now. I'm only 22, still grinding through college, and I'm not even in a serious relationship... God only knows how he'd even react to this news. Ugh...

I truly empathize with you, even though my situation looks a bit different on paper—I'm 25, finally have my college diploma in hand, and I've been with my boyfriend for about six months now. We actually hit it off instantly, but since I just started my career—and let's be honest, it took a few networking connections to land the job—finding myself pregnant feels overwhelming. Mentally, I am in a very dark place. I try my hardest to keep my cool and not let the nerves get the best of me, but it's an uphill battle. I know exactly what you're going through.

ughhh... tell me about it. I’m getting all those "signs" too, and now I've even got these stupid breakouts popping up... do I seriously have to take the test first thing in the morning?

You can actually use an Clearblue anytime during the day... my period was about five days late and I just took one in the afternoon. But hey, if you want to be 100% sure and avoid any guesswork, stick to that first morning pee.

The test should be around $20 at the CVS, and honestly, it's been the most reliable one I've used—at least for me...

I honestly didn't have the patience to play the waiting game; the second I walked through my front door after work around 4:00 PM, I rushed to the bathroom expecting a negative result, only to be met with a positive one. It turns out everyone in my orbit is absolutely over the moon about this baby, whereas I was just sitting there processing it all, but now I find myself actually looking forward to meeting this little tiny human. Everything is going to turn out fine. If you're feeling as restless as I was, just make a quick run to the CVS and let us know what the results say. 😘

I bought one of those stick tests at a Walgreens near $17, and the moment I used it, two lines appeared almost instantly. It was only around 4:00 PM

Look, there's a chance it could just be stress. My cycle was two months late this summer, and in my head, I had already mapped out my whole life with a baby—only to realize it was just pure anxiety playing tricks on me. I was convinced I was experiencing every single pregnancy symptom, nausea included. Honestly, your best bet is to just take a test as soon as possible and get some clarity. 😘

Hey, just grab a test as soon as you can so you don't have to keep guessing! Honestly, those symptoms might just be nerves because you're feeling anxious about the idea of being pregnant. But if I'm being real, it looks like Daniel Robinson6 will be turning into Sam Kim12 before we know it, and then you'll finally be part of the club with us.😘

Look, I’ll admit I’ve been thinking about having kids for a while now because I absolutely love children, but now that it's actually happening? Man, it hits different. I feel like I haven't even really "arrived" in life yet—my independence level is basically zero right now. I have this nagging feeling that I wouldn't even know how to take care of a newborn properly. And don't even get me started on the fear of the actual labor pains (especially after my friend gave me the terrifying play-by-play of her delivery!). Plus, there's the whole thing about losing my physique—I'm a total fitness junkie, and honestly, I think a single stretch mark would send me into a total spiral. 😢 I don't even know what I'm going to do...

The symptoms you’ve listed are textbook indicators of pregnancy—there’s really no other way to slice it—so please, just do what all your girlfriends suggested and take a test to finally put this uncertainty to rest. Once you have an answer, come back and share the good news with us.😘

As for me, I’ve got my independence dialed in at a hundred percent, though for the time being, I'll be staying with my folks until we settle our housing situation; I've lived entirely on my own for seven years now. Believe me, you'll survive them, and as for your figure, you can reclaim it through exercise fairly easily. Try not to let that weigh on you too heavily, as it is arguably one of the least significant things in the grand scheme of life; a few stretch marks aren't going to hinder your journey through this world. I truly wish you nothing but the best. If you find yourself pregnant, you'll soon realize that your focus will shift entirely toward the baby—your only concern will be their well-being and the hope that they arrive healthy and strong.

Don't beat yourself up; everything is going to turn out just fine.😘 You can always get back in shape, and as for the stretch marks, you should really talk to those women in the pregnancy forums who obsessively track every little change.😉

Thanks, ladies... I’ll definitely give you guys an update once I actually run the test. I'm heading out to pick one up later today. Honestly though, what's really eating at me isn't even the pregnancy part—it's how my boyfriend is going to react (if you can even call him that). I've got this sinking feeling I'm just going to be left totally on my own with this kid. That is, if I'm even pregnant to begin with.

This whole "withdrawal method" thing isn't some kind of actual protection against pregnancy... and let's be real, nature is tricky—pregnancy symptoms and PMS feel almost identical, so you won't know for sure until you go out and buy a test...

You’re probably not pregnant 😉

But go ahead and buy a test 😁

And what exactly makes you think I'm not? Seriously? Fine, whatever—I'll head out this afternoon and pick one up.

Look, there is basically zero chance you’re pregnant if he didn't finish inside you. Sure, maybe some pre-cum got in there, but even if there's sperm in that, it isn't just going to fertilize you on its own. If it were that easy, infertility wouldn't even be a thing.🙄

This happens to everyone eventually. Your period is likely just late because of stress...

But just buy a test so you can stop worrying. Once you relax, your cycle will probably reset.

If that were actually how it worked, we'd have a massive surplus of teen moms everywhere.😉

👍

gentlecanyon92, what on earth does that have to do with fertility or the lack thereof?
