How to extract pages from a PDF

Hi,

So, I’ve run into a bit of a headache... I need to extract a specific range of pages—from page 538 through 598—out of a single PDF document that’s over 600 pages long. Usually, I just rely on this online editor at http://www.pdfescape.com/, but the whole process is incredibly tedious because I have to manually delete every single page one by one until I finally hit page 538, and to make matters worse, the site won't even let me upload anything exceeding 100 pages.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

You can actually use Adobe Acrobat - to print specific pages directly into a collection and then save them all as a brand new PDF.

Thanks for the assist. I went ahead and downloaded this second one, but I’m honestly not sure what the next step is supposed to be. Every time I hit Print, this pops up: and then I'm just stuck...

By the way, I don't even own a printer...

The first one is way easier to use and honestly just better overall.

Just type the page range you need into the RANGE field and it'll make a
new Adobe Acrobat file with just those specific pages in it.

That was me, I tried doing it immediately after downloading the file. I opened up Pages and typed "538-598" into the field, but absolutely nothing happened. So then I went ahead and clicked Print, and it acted like it was actually sending something to a printer—even though I don't even own one—and yet, still nothing at the end of it all...

I guess you chose to print to one of those virtual printers?
If none of the Adobe Acrobat options work, then I'd say the document is probably protected somehow.
Whenever I need to make a PDF out of something I'm working on, I usually just use SnagIt.
Maybe try that. It isn't free, but you can find it online pretty easily. I think there's a 15-day free trial.
You’ll have to go page by page, though. You basically "grab" the page with SnagIt and then use its built-in printer to turn it into a PDF.
It would be better if you could do it all at once, but if it won't let you, I don't think there's any other way—or at least, I don't know of one.

Give Adobe Acrobat a shot if you haven't already. I’ve been using it—on Unix, actually—for ages now, and honestly, I’ve never run into a single issue with it.
