Alright, let me try this one more time from scratch.
So, we had a massive lightning strike near my place the other day, and it absolutely fried my modem.
An AT&T tech came out, swapped out the modem and the DirecTV box, and those are both working fine now.
The problem is, I can't get any internet on my PC. I actually went ahead and replaced the network card myself. I installed it, and everything seemed fine for a little bit, but then we got more thunder and storms, so I shut everything down to be safe. Now that I've powered everything back up, it’s dead again. I checked the Device Manager and there's that annoying yellow warning triangle. I try reinstalling the drivers, it tells me I need to restart the computer, so I do—but nothing changes. It still won't connect. My phone's Wi-Fi is working perfectly fine though.
I even took the PC in for repair, and they told me everything was running perfectly. I get home, plug it all back in, and it works! But the second I hit reset, it breaks again. I tried a hard reset on the modem and checked if any cables had been damaged,
but still nothing. Help me out here.😢

Is the computer connected to the Verizon router via a wired or wireless connection?
What kind of network card are we talking about here—which slot does it plug into?

If it’s a wired setup, and if you deal with frequent power surges—like from lightning or whatever—you might want to look into getting a surge protector like these:

A buddy of mine had his internet working perfectly fine until one morning—suddenly, his browser just hits him with "problem loading page" for every single site he tries to visit. The weird part? Skype and torrenting are running without a hitch. He asked if anyone here has encountered this and knows a fix. 🙂
EDIT: He can play CS and Halo multiplayer just fine, but the web pages simply won't load. He even called Comcast, but they couldn't get it sorted out. To make matters worse, a second computer in the house works perfectly fine.

First off, you should probably head over to the Device Manager and just reinstall those network drivers from scratch... I mean, if there's actually an issue there, like the system isn't even seeing the network card at all, then yeah, it might be totally fried... but if that part goes okay, just shut down the PC and unplug the modem from the wall for like a full minute, then power everything back up... if that still doesn't do the trick, honestly, maybe just double-check that you didn't plug the ethernet cable into the wrong port on the modem in the first place...
