I’m running into a bit of a snag while translating some tech documentation—this specific terminology keeps popping up...

"IT practice" and "IT practitioners"

Translating them as "IT practices" and "IT professionals" just doesn't feel quite right in this context—if anyone could offer some insight or better alternatives, I'd really appreciate it...

It probably makes more sense if you just translate it like this

IT practice = IT profession
IT practitioners = IT professionals

I guess you could look at "practice" as being similar to a set of usage rules or those standard corporate policies you see baked into an IT system. And then there are the practitioners—the folks actually tasked with making sure everything stays on track... honestly, what a clunky way to put it. I haven't really run into that specific term before.

I’ve never run into that specific terminology in any US tech circles—if we're talking about career progression, the standard ladder is usually apprentice -> technician -> professional. This feels like some overly complicated academic jargon designed to reinvent the wheel. What field is this text actually coming from?
