Java update wiped my SD card!!!

I swapped out my motherboard and moved my Windows installation over to an SSD, while keeping everything else on an M.2 drive.

Since I was using an OEM version of Windows, I had to buy a new license for this "new system," and because of that, the IRS website wouldn't work for me.

I reinstalled all the necessary software, including the JRE. After I rebooted the computer, it automatically prompted me for a new Java update.

Once I downloaded it, I had to select an empty directory for the installation. I chose a folder on my M.2 drive, but the Java installer somehow wiped the entire drive clean—including my accounting software and all my data for the whole year.

What should I do?

I managed to use EaseUS data recovery to find the software on my drive and restore it. However, now when I try to launch it, I get an error saying I can't run this application on my PC and need to check if the software publisher has a version compatible with my system.

Any help would be appreciated...

That's it. I'm giving up after searching for two days without finding a solution. Does anyone know a professional in the Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, or Little Rock area who handles this?
