Could someone please help me make sense of these blood work results?
Everything seems totally fine except for a few things:
neutrophil granulocytes 34 (rel), 44-72
1.85(abs), 2.06-6.49
lymphocytes 54.7 (rel), 20-46
2.97 (abs), 1.19-3.35

So, basically, my granulocytes are low and my relative lymphocyte count is high—and this has been happening for three years straight now.
My primary care doctor isn't even sweating it, but my cardiologist suggested I actually look into this.

Good afternoon. Is it possible for a malignant brain tumor to show up on an MRI without using contrast dye? On a separate note, I’ve been dealing with persistent low-grade fevers up to 99°F, muscle and joint aches, general weakness, and pain in my submandibular glands along with a dry mouth. I also have this sensation of numbness in my leg, where it just doesn't feel right. I’m currently waiting on some immunology results, but I'm trying to figure out what this points toward. It could be Sjögren's syndrome given the gland changes and dryness, but the leg numbness and occasional paresthesia suggest something else entirely. Could Myasthenia Gravis be a possibility considering the muscle weakness and that numbness...

Hey everyone,
For a while now, I’ve been dealing with a string of health issues that have suddenly, and quite aggressively, tripled in intensity over the last three months. To get straight to the point, I'm struggling with low mood, constant exhaustion, brain fog, depression, and intense pain in my joints and muscles all over—especially in my arms and legs. On top of that, there's the headaches, chronic nasal congestion, cracked skin at the corners of my mouth, and all sorts of GI issues ranging from constipation to frequent trips to the bathroom. My mornings are absolutely brutal; it feels more like I spent the entire night digging ditches rather than actually sleeping. I wake up with body aches and stiffness that lasts for an hour or maybe ninety minutes, and as the afternoon rolls around, my energy just bottoms out while the pain ramps right back up. It’s just this endless, daily cycle...
My blood work and urinalysis came back pretty much normal, except for one specific biochemical marker here:

My TSH levels, which came in at 2.106 mIU/L.

I’d really appreciate some insight on what kind of illness or underlying disorder this could possibly be...

So, I ended up at the ER because I was dealing with this nasty pain under my right ribs that was radiating toward my back and even a bit lower. They ran some blood work on me. My CRP came back at 10.1, and my ALP is low at 58, but everything else looked fine. WBC was 8.2.
My urine results showed RBC 16, leukocyte esterase 1, bacteria 2, squamous epithelium 20, and mucus 3.
The doctors ruled out any acute abdominal issues, which is a relief because I was honestly terrified it might be appendicitis. Is a CRP of 10 actually something I should be worried about?

Have you ever had any issues with your gallbladder or gallstones?

I don't know what you want me to do with just a username. If there's a specific post or thread you need me to rework, lay it on me. I'm ready to get to work whenever you are. kaže:
Do you deal with any major issues regarding your gallbladder or gallstones?

Nothing yet. I’ve already gone through both an ultrasound and an abdominal MRI.

Man, I started feeling this pain dropping down toward my hip yesterday, and it’s honestly hurting pretty bad right now.
So, I went to see the surgeon yesterday, and turns out it’s not appendicitis.
So, my OB-GYN says I’m right in the middle of ovulation... maybe that’s why I'm feeling this pain.
My latest blood work just came back: WBC is at 10, neutrophils are sitting at 77, lymphocytes are at 19, and my CRP is 1.9.

I’m honestly terrified that I might be heading for an appendicitis situation.

I’m looking for some clarification on my three-year-old daughter's lab results. There was some suspicion regarding microsporosis in her hair, which she also seems to have on her body.

Here are the findings:
hair sample-mycology culture, result negative. Note: please repeat sampling if any therapy has been administered!
hair sample-native preparation,result positive.

Your T3 levels look a bit low. Might be a thyroid issue. Maybe try getting some thyroid panels done?

What could these results potentially indicate:

PDW 8.7 /ref. range 15.5-17.1/
plt 413 /ref. range 150-400/
RBC 4.99 /ref. range 3.9 - 5.00/

I'm wondering why my PDW is so low, and I suppose, what that might actually signify?

Everything else seems mostly fine, I guess, though my WBC is a bit elevated—but then again, I’ve been dealing with a cold, so that probably explains it.

The guy who performed my cupping therapy mentioned that my blood tends to clot quite quickly, and lately, I've also been experiencing some spontaneous bleeding from my gums.

I haven't actually seen a doctor yet; I just went ahead and had my blood drawn on my own initiative, purely just to keep an eye on things.

So, I’m looking for some clarity regarding my blood work results because, frankly, my doctor wasn't much help... she just gave me this vague reassurance that there weren't any "major" deviations, though she mentioned a few slight elevations but then admitted she wasn't entirely sure what they actually signified 😵
I am fully aware that I really ought to find a new physician, but until I can make that switch, I am hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on this for me.
I had these tests done because I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist this Tuesday to deal with some ongoing gut issues, which have unfortunately led to hemorrhoids and a perianal abscess that had to be opened up today.

WBC 5.1 ref.int. 3.4-9.7
RBC 5.19 H ref.int. 3.86-5.08
Hemoglobin 159 H ref.int. 119-157
MCHC 357 H ref.int. 320-345

My white blood cell count seems perfectly fine, but I did notice these minor elevations in the other markers. Does anyone have any insight into what these specific shifts might indicate?

Is it possible to have Sjögren's syndrome even if my immune system markers come back normal? My salivary glands are painful, my mouth feels incredibly dry, and I've noticed a significant drop in saliva production lately. An ultrasound showed some tissue hypoechogenicity, which the report noted could be linked to overlapping autoimmune conditions. On top of that, my throat is constantly sore and swallowing has become difficult. I’ve also dealt with CMV and EBV in the past. My joints are aching, my legs feel swollen, and there's this persistent muscle pain... my legs feel heavy and stiff, making it hard to stand for long periods. When I try to run, that heaviness in my muscles intensifies to the point where I can't keep moving and have to stop. Should I be seeing an immunologist for this...

Can someone help me make sense of my D-dimer levels? About a month ago, I went into anaphylactic shock from an antibiotic, and they ran a D-dimer test at the ER. It came back at 1.67. I ended up staying in the hospital for three days, and they told me I should follow up with an internist regarding some hypertension issues and the D-dimer. Ten days later, I retested, and now it’s sitting at 2.1. I’ve got a month to wait before I can see a cardiologist, so I'm wondering—how much of a red flag is this value?

Hey everyone, thanks in advance for any help here. If anyone could help me make sense of this, I’d really appreciate it.

So, here’s the situation: I have an elderly couple living next door to me. One of them, a 69-year-old man, just went through surgery for a pancreatic issue. They were handed a mountain of paperwork and have been told they’ll need to head back to the Mayo Clinic for follow-up exams and various other appointments. The doctors have given them a lot of medical jargon, but they’re stuck on one fundamental question they haven't quite grasped yet: was the tumor malignant? And more importantly, are all these upcoming tests mandatory because of the nature of what happened, or are they just standard procedure? I can't step in and give them medical advice myself, but if someone could look at the details provided below and give me a plain-English summary of what actually occurred and what the road ahead looks like, that would be huge. Also, if there are specific sections in these reports that I should keep an eye on, please let me know.

Here is the pathology requisition:

And these are the discharge papers and test results:

I realize this is a lot to digest, but they are honestly terrified, and I want to be able to explain things to them in a way that doesn't sound like a textbook so I can hopefully ease their minds. If anyone can break this down for me, I'll pass it along to them. Thanks again!

So, I ended up in the ER because my bladder was absolutely killing me. Here’s the breakdown from my urinalysis: glucose is normal, proteins are negative, bilirubin is negative, urobilinogen is normal, pH is 6.5, blood is at level 3, ketones are negative, nitrites are negative, leukocyte esterase is 3, specific gravity is 1.004, E 13, L 574, white cell sediment is 8, bacteria is 6, epithelial cells are 18, and mucus is 1. Honestly, the pain was so intense I couldn't just sit at home and wait; I had to head straight to the emergency room. They put me on Augmentin (which is a bit ironic since I just finished a round for my throat about a month ago). I have a feeling this might be what happens after spending too much time at the local community pool. Does it make any sense to bother with a culture and sensitivity test at this stage?☕

I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight here. My 22-month-old just had a bronchoscopy, and the aspirate results came back showing *Streptococcus pneumoniae* at 10^2 and *E. coli* at 10^2. Apparently, according to the doctor, those levels are within the normal range, so they didn't prescribe any medication. But then I stumbled upon some information online about these specific bacteria, and now I’m starting to feel a bit anxious.

So, what's the official way to actually get my hands on lab results if they were run through a hospital lab using an internal order during my stay?
I know there’s some kind of legal right to get copies of your own records if you're willing to pay for them, but I have no clue what the actual process is or who I even need to talk to.

I would be truly grateful if someone could help me make sense of these lab results; I’m having a difficult time determining whether anything here is actually showing a positive or abnormal finding.
Thank you.

Just got a few quick questions for the group...
A four-year-old kid just had a blood smear done, and here’s what we're looking at: 2 eosinophils, 2 basophils, 55 segmented granulocytes, and 41 lymphocytes. That’s basically everything else they listed.
As for the red blood cells, it shows anisocytosis+ and some slight hypochromia.
Special forms noted include microcytes and some rare basophilic stippling.
Platelets are present on the smear.

The poor kid has been stuck in this endless cycle of testing and doctor visits for months now because of these swollen lymph nodes in his neck that just won't go down.
