Greetings!

I have a Dell Inspiron, and I've been noticing some spots at the bottom of the screen for a while now. They look somewhat concentric, almost as if there's an issue with the backlight.
Everything else seems fine in those areas, except for the fact that the brightness is a bit off.
I'll post a photo, though I'm not entirely sure how visible it actually is...

Does anyone happen to have any solutions for this issue?

Thanks!

I might just have to try reinstalling the graphics drivers if this doesn't work—honestly, at this point, I’m half expecting the screen to just go black anyway...

All drivers have been fully updated. This message has actually been displayed on my screen for about ten different driver versions now.
The issue persists whether I am using the integrated Intel graphics or the NVIDIA card, which suggests the problem lies with the display itself.

I read somewhere that this kind of glitch can be caused by a faulty connector inside the panel—maybe an inverter issue?

However, I doubt it is a direct failure of the screen, considering the laptop is only about six months old.

And honestly, he isn't just talking about this specific thread...

Look, man, I’m honestly not sure what you’re getting at here—are you actually trying to start something? All this feels a bit unnecessary. To be honest, it just seems like you’ve got nothing better to do than try to lecture me, which is kind of a sad look, don't you think? I'll just admit it—I'm clearly not the most educated guy around, so I guess I'll take that 🤣

You’re probably
right about that, anyway, take care!

To looks like a faulty connection within the screen itself. If the flickering comes and goes, it's likely a loose contact; otherwise, I’d bet the backlight died at the bottom edge.
Take it back to where you bought it. If there are any valuable photos or documents on there, back them up to an external hard drive first. You never know what happens at a repair shop; they might not even fix it, they might just swap it for a different machine. There's no guarantee you'll get your exact same computer back.

It's possible you were running the screen brightness at full blast, which accelerates wear. Consider yourself lucky it happened now rather than right after the warranty expires. Why not set the brightness to 50% from now on?

I have already taken my Apple apart twice to inspect the internals and reseat the SSD. There is zero chance they will honor the warranty after that...
But I am absolutely certain the issue lies with a faulty connection. Ever since I opened it up and cleaned the contacts, the problem has been reduced to a bare minimum.

It is only clearly visible against a solid white background or a completely dark one. Otherwise, you can barely notice it.

There were even times when it seemed to function perfectly for a while... without any spots at all.

My Apple doesn't have particularly bright screen illumination. Because of that, I always keep it at 100%. From now on, I think I'll try keeping it dimmed a bit more.🙂

Does anything change if you adjust the screen angle slightly? If so, that indicates either a loose connection at the motherboard or a damaged cable—which will only get worse. Cables tend to snap when they're constantly being opened and closed.
I dealt with this every eight months on my work Apple. It wasn't even my fault; I just had to open it constantly while working out in the field.

Nothing has changed. I suspect the factory assembly is poorly connected near the screen area.

I will take it apart when I have some free time. Hopefully, that does the trick.
