Maria Reed44 said:Does anyone happen to know a really solid private gynecologist or endocrinologist in Washington, D.C.? Ideally someone with a PhD—I'm looking for a specialist for my daughter. She’s dealing with PCOS, her hormones are all over the place, and she's actually losing hair because of it... It's been tough. I would be so grateful for any recommendations you might have. Thanks!

🙂

Dr. Sokol, my advice? First, grab a referral and head to your local community health center—maybe one over in the Chicago area—for an initial checkup. From there, they’ll likely suggest some treatments, usually about once a month, which are basically $83

I'm on the hunt for a solid contact lens specialist over in Indianapolis, but I definitely don't want to deal with the local community health center.

Prof. Miroslav Dumić works over at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, but he also sees patients privately in Chicago.
He's my top recommendation. 👍

I know I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but please, I really need some help from you all!!! I’ve been feeling nauseous on and off all day yesterday and today... it comes in waves, just hits me and then fades, but it keeps happening throughout the day...
What do you think this could be? Has anyone else ever dealt with something like this??
THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!!

What the hell is this "misery" crap supposed to mean?

Sick = bad = terrible: It means nausea.

Maybe you poisoned your stomach or you've caught some intestinal flu. If you start throwing up, just drink some Coca-Cola and eat some pretzels. If this keeps up, seriously, go ask a professional.

Does anyone have a solid recommendation—maybe a specific clinic or a specialist—for a really thorough shoulder exam? I’m looking for someone who won't miss a thing... Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone! Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a dentist who does killer veneers around Seattle or Washington, D.C.?

thanks!🙂

So, someone suggested Tomislav Tamarut, and I decided to give him a shot. Honestly, the guy was great—super patient and really knows his stuff. Definitely recommend him if you need work done. You won't regret it. 🙂

For anyone currently searching for a doctor in Washington, D.C., particularly those of you navigating life as a student, I strongly suggest you steer clear of the clinic operating out of the University Dormitory run by Dr. Vukas.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I've actually seen some people on this forum strongly recommending that doctor over at the University Dormitory.

Has anyone here had any experience with Helena Šimurina? She practices right near Baschiera, just off Main Street. It looks like a pretty small clinic, and honestly, whenever I've passed by, it hasn't seemed too crowded. I haven't gone inside myself, though—just saw it from the street.

It’s been about six months since I moved to San Francisco, and I still haven't managed to track down a decent dentist who accepts Medicare without tacking on massive extra fees. Back home, I had a perfectly fine dentist who only ever charged me a small co-pay of maybe 15-$6.75 bucks. However, from what I’ve heard firsthand here in San Francisco, some providers who technically take Medicare are still hitting patients with huge additional charges. That is, quite frankly, financially impossible for me right now. I’m not looking for high-end boutique service; I just want someone reasonably good who actually honors the coverage.

If anyone happens to know a reliable dentist who works through Medicare without those sneaky extra costs, please shoot me a DM or reply here. It’s getting pretty urgent—I need to get a few teeth sorted out, and I really can't afford to be fleeced by some clinic. Thanks.

But from what I’ve heard from people living here in San Francisco, some doctors working through Medicare end up charging patients all sorts of extra stuff on top of it. That’s a total dealbreaker for my budget. I know there's gotta be solid service out there that doesn't break the bank—I'm not looking for a celebrity surgeon, just someone reliable who follows the rules.

If anyone knows a solid dentist who accepts Medicare and won't rip me off with hidden fees, please shoot me a DM or reply here. It’s kind of urgent because I need to get some dental work done soon, and I really don't want to get fleeced. Thanks.

Marija Štević has a practice at the school clinic (right by the courthouse). She's great, super conscientious, and as far as I know, she doesn't charge anything beyond what's legally required.

Look, if you’re out there hunting for a decent private eye doctor in Washington, D.C., let me save you some serious grief and just say stay far away from Dr. Vukas and his clinic on Broadway

Seriously, for the insane amount of cash you'll blow on a private visit there, you won't even get half of what you actually need, let alone the high-quality care you're paying for!

Also, just a heads-up for anyone looking for an ophthalmologist, stay far away from Milan Pavić at his clinic over on Spanish Street, specifically 17 Slavko Batušić.

Look, he might actually be a decent doctor or whatever, but honestly, he wouldn't let go of my arm or my knee today even though I kept telling him to back off, so I basically got some kind of unsolicited physical therapy that I’m guessing would normally cost a pretty penny; then he starts lecturing me about how happy marriages really do exist—using Kalember and Ana Rucner as his little examples—despite age gaps (he's 52 and I'm 19), and he keeps telling me how gorgeous I am and all that other nonsense, eventually asking me out for coffee tomorrow and even kissing me on the cheek while I had those eye exam goggles on so I couldn't even see him coming.

About half an hour later, I showed up with my boyfriend and after a bit of pushing and a few choice words, I made it pretty clear that I was going to absolutely wreck his practice if he didn't watch himself.

I’m guessing you’ve got some pain there—maybe some clicking or popping or something? If you're hanging around Washington, D.C., I'd say head over to the main hospital building on the right side; they've got some top-tier bone specialists over there.
