Hmm. So, about ten days ago I called the clinic and they told me the OB-GYN was out on maternity leave. Now I’m starting to wonder if someone just gave me the runaround over the phone... you know how it goes. Ladies, please let me know if she's actually back in the office!

Thanks in advance 🙂

Kate Edwards17 said:If anyone knows a good dentist taking new patients (via Medicare), I’d be so grateful if you could DM me their info 😉
Basically, I got a "letter" from Medicare the other day saying my dentist didn't renew his contract with them—so now I have to find someone else. Honestly, I have no clue who or where, since I've been seeing the same guy since I was a little kid! 🤷
I live around New Jersey City, but location isn't a huge deal for me—as long as they're good and actually accepting new patients 😉

I mentioned the Community Health Center on Broadway above, urbantinker8. Their Tooth Fairy is absolutely wonderful—plus, there’s never a crowd, at least not during the times I've gone 🙂

Donna Bailey3 said:I have an amazing OBGYN in my Suburban Neighborhood, Dr. Kos, but she is always swamped. It's worth calling, though, because apparently it's one of those seasons where doctors are rotating... (every attempt feels like a coin toss)

Does she have an ultrasound machine on-site?
I'm looking for an OBGYN through Medicare, but ideally one that has an ultrasound available so I don't end up having to get a referral and head all the way to the hospital again.

My apologies to the moderator for posting several times in a row—I accidentally started reading the thread in reverse order, unfortunately!

I guess the real issue is that whenever I have to visit the dentist, my OB-GYN, or a dermatologist, I end up losing half my day, which creates some pretty significant headaches for me since my work schedule is so unpredictable. That’s why I’m really hoping to track down a solid dentist somewhere between my office and my house. Right now, my current dentist is downtown on Wall Street, my gynecologist is out by Central Park, and I live on the west side, so traveling all over the place like this feels like a bit much.

Does anyone know if there are any private labs in the area? I'm looking to get some blood work done. I don't actually live here—just studying in the city for now—so I'm a bit lost. Any leads would be huge, thanks! 😉

Has anyone here actually been to Inga Vučković’s office over on Fifth Avenue 191—or maybe Susan Varga’s clinic in that Beautiful Village near St. George Street? I’m in desperate need of a solid dentist right now—and from what I’ve gathered online, both seem wonderful. Plus, they both accept Medicare, which is a huge plus—but I’m curious about how they treat their patients and what the out-of-pocket costs look like for things Medicare doesn't cover... Or, if you have a better recommendation—ideally somewhere in the heart of the city—please let me know. Thanks!

redeagle96 said:Does anyone happen to know—and please, do let me know if you have any leads—where one might find a private laboratory in Chicago? I am looking to have some blood work done, specifically a complete blood count, and since I am only here temporarily for my studies, I am still quite unfamiliar with the local landscape. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would be immensely grateful for the assistance! 😉

Back when I was in college, I actually decided to switch my primary care physician over to a doctor in Chicago—it just felt much more convenient at the time. Of course, if you have the financial means to cover everything without a second thought, and you already know exactly which tests or procedures you’re looking for, then by all means, go right ahead! But—and this is a big "but"—isn't it perhaps a bit wiser to coordinate those decisions with a professional consultation first? It really doesn't cost you a dime to be proactive. You simply select a provider, reach out to see if they're accepting new patients, and then take your paperwork down to the local Medicare office across the street. Once they process everything, you head back with your official documents in hand. You leave one copy with them, and then, whenever you find a spare moment, you bring the other copy to your previous doctor. It's just common sense, really. After all, heaven forbid you were to fall ill unexpectedly—how on earth would you manage the trek back home if you were stuck dealing with health issues for an entire week?

If you find yourself in need of a medical-biochemical laboratory—and let’s be honest, who doesn't occasionally need a little data to settle their mind?—you can actually find one right there in the ground floor of the local community health center. Isn't that convenient? It really saves one the hassle of driving across town, wouldn't you agree? I find myself wondering—quite often, actually—about the nature of those certain individuals... you know the ones? Those specific types we all seem to encounter from time to time. It makes one pause, doesn't it? To consider why such personalities exist in our social fabric at all. One can only speculate!Well, you know, you can actually bypass the referral process entirely—just head straight in and pay out of pocket if that’s what you prefer! Why not just give them a quick call first? It might be worth asking around to see exactly how they handle things and what the specific protocols are... wouldn't that make life a little easier?
I simply looked up this laboratory online—honestly, I don't know the first thing about it! I was just browsing through some industry reports earlier—you know how I get when I fall down a research rabbit hole—and I stumbled upon this fascinating piece regarding medical biotechnology developments. It really makes you wonder, doesn't it? Where exactly is the line between pure innovation and what we consider standard practice? The article delves into some rather complex technical specifications, much like those deep-dive white papers you might find coming out of Johns Hopkins or the Mayo Clinic. It’s all very dense, quite frankly—lots of jargon that requires a second look—but the implications for the future of healthcare in America are genuinely staggering. Is it possible we are standing on the precipice of a total paradigm shift in how we approach biological data? I certainly think so! It’s one of those rare moments where the science feels like it’s finally catching up to our wildest ambitions. Truly remarkable stuff.

You could also look into some of those private medical groups—for instance, something like a specialized Mayo Clinic facility or even one of those high-end boutique practices you see popping up in major cities... Sunlight—there is just something about it, isn't there? It’s funny how a little bit of brightness can shift your entire perspective on a day. One moment you're feeling rather dim, and the next, the sun breaks through the clouds and suddenly everything feels... well, possible! Is it just me, or does the warmth actually feel like it's recharging your very soul? I truly believe we all need a bit more of that golden glow in our lives. But honestly—and I say this with all due respect—I suspect that route might end up costing you quite a bit more than just heading over to a local clinic. Don't take my word for it, though; why not pull up Google on your phone and do a little digging yourself? It’s always worth a quick search before making any big moves, don't you think?

Thanks to everyone for all the advice regarding an orthopedic surgeon. It turns out there isn't anyone available at MedPost right now, but they did manage to get me an appointment with a physiatrist first thing. I’m hoping they can at least prescribe some physical therapy while I wait to see a specialist who can move a bit faster. Honestly, my mobility is getting worse by the day, and it's becoming quite a struggle.

Greetings, everyone!

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a private dermatology clinic in Washington, D.C.? Since I don't have Medicare coverage here in the States, I'm forced to seek out private specialists.
I've found a few listed in the directory, but rather than calling every single one just to ask questions, I thought I'd ask for help here first.
The issue is hair loss, so I would really prefer to be seen by a female specialist with significant experience in that specific field. I am emphasizing a woman, as I assume women might be more sensitive to this particular concern.
So, if there is a female doctor who comes highly recommended for hair issues, please let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Hey everyone...

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a great specialist for a phimosis issue I'm dealing with... (looking in the Miami area)

I saw a public urologist in Miami, but honestly, he barely said two words to me. He just told me it needs to be cut and that was it...
He didn't explain anything or even mention if there were any other ways to fix it without surgery...

So, I'm looking for some help finding a top-tier private urologist. Someone who will actually listen to my questions and walk me through the best options available...

Also, if you happen to know what the typical cost for a consultation is...

Thanks!!!

As the title says, I’m looking for recommendations for a solid GP in Miami. I need someone who actually listens, offers real advice, and—most importantly—knows their stuff. 🙂
Thanks.
Hit me up via DM 🙂

Dr. Mirjana Bezdrov is alright in my book

Just don't have her number on me right now... you can just call the info desk. She's over in that new building right across from the old Sears office

Well... to be perfectly honest, I’ve had some rather unpleasant experiences with female dentists in the past, which unfortunately led me to develop a bit of a phobia toward the whole profession. Because of that, I haven't actually sat in a dental chair for nearly two years now.😲
At this stage, I find myself searching for a dentist who meets a very specific set of criteria:

1. Location: Ideally somewhere near the Boston Celtics arena—so maybe around the downtown area or heading towards the suburbs, though central is fine too.
2. Insurance coverage: They need to accept my insurance, specifically Medicare, so that a portion of the costs is covered.
3. Bedside manner: They absolutely must be gentle.😍
4. Age range: I am looking for someone relatively young, or at least middle-aged. A friend recently suggested her dentist, but the woman is practically ready to retire! She’s been practicing since before kindergarten, if you can believe it. If I went to her, I'd be hunting for a new doctor again in a year or two, and frankly, I just don't have the energy for that cycle.

So, if anyone happens to know a practitioner who fits this description, please let me know. I really need to deal with these cavities and wisdom teeth via 911 levels of urgency! ☕

Do you happen to know any gynecologists who fit that description? 😁 Location doesn't really matter—anywhere in the Washington, D.C. area works for me.

🤷 I don't personally know any gynecologists. I actually see Assad over at the local community health clinic. He’s a fantastic guy, truly. A close friend of mine saw him throughout her entire pregnancy, too. We have both had such wonderful experiences with him. In fact, I was just there seeing him this morning! 😁

Help, please...
I'm coming from Canada and I don't have any American insurance coverage, so I was wondering if I can just book a private appointment with a dermatologist at Salt Lake City?
Also, does anyone have a recommendation for a solid dermatologist in a major US city? I've got this rash on my chest that doctors back home in Canada haven't been able to clear up. Has anyone here actually used the Phoenix clinic before?
thanks!
