Lucan (1977)

CBS is showing this movie based on a true story right now about a boy raised by wolves in the wild. They found him when he was ten, and he was basically acting like a wolf—growling, moving incredibly fast, hunting at night, eating off the floor, all that stuff. It apparently took years of work just to teach him how to act like a civilized human being.

I actually studied stuff like this back in my psychology classes. People always say The Jungle Book was inspired by real events, though I can't tell if this specific film is actually covering that exact case.

I can't quite remember, but I think this was originally a 12-episode series that aired back in '77-'78 (link to IMDb) before they went ahead and made a 75-minute pilot version.

I caught it recently and found myself tearing up during the scene where those Dobermans attack him. It led to Lucan breaking down over the dog he had to put down in self-defense. 😢
