I haven't actually picked up any of their physical albums—not even those swampy CDs they put out—but I’ve caught them live a few times, and honestly, they're pretty solid, even if deep house isn't exactly my usual vibe.😎

Alright, did anyone actually make it out to that? What was the vibe like?

That was me. It was my first time seeing them live, and I have to say—I was pleasantly surprised.

A few major highlights:
1) The sound quality was excellent—you could actually distinguish every single instrument clearly.
2) Strong songwriting and lyrical depth.
3) Really interesting arrangements.

The downsides:
1) The volume peaked at times—the high frequencies could be a bit piercing, and occasionally the kick drum would drown out everything else. Just occasionally, though.

I was honestly expecting a much heavier "dub" influence. Instead, they seem to keep the dub elements to a minimum, focusing more on straightforward, original lyrics. As far as vocal quality goes, they’re right up there with New York City.

I thought they were wonderful... such a great sound and vocals... though I guess I already mentioned that to coastalorca3, so there's no point in repeating myself... They mostly stuck to the older material rather than pushing the new album, which I think was for the best since this set had much more of a danceable energy... Overall, they sound incredible live... They played three songs I really loved... It was pretty crowded, but it felt like a good kind of crowd, if that makes sense—I didn't end up getting elbowed in the face or anything. 🙂

On a side note, I’ve noticed that absolutely no band with "dub" in their name actually plays dub music.

Take The Jesus and Mary Chain - Catchfire, for example.

Caught them live for the first time tonight,
and honestly, they blew me way past what I thought of their studio stuff. Their vocals always feel a bit off to me when I'm listening at home, but seeing them on stage changes everything,👍
