Missing DLL file error

I just installed a few games, but none of them will actually launch because I'm missing this specific file:



So, naturally, I grabbed it from some site online, but now I have zero clue which folder it's supposed to go into.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit.

Sorry if there's already a thread about this; I couldn't find one anywhere.

Usually it’s C:/Windows/system32. I mean, you could probably toss it in syswow64 without breaking anything, but why risk it? Not worth the headache.

That package includes every single DLL you'll need to get your games running properly.

when I try to run the installer, it asks me to pick a folder. which one should I use?

I already tried putting them in system32 and syswow64, but it won't let me there.

Just drop it right into the game's main folder—it should work perfectly fine then.

Probably won't work because it's set to read-only... just open up properties, uncheck that read-only box, and go into security settings to give yourself write permissions.

It's asking for a temp folder to unpack the files. Just let it unzip there, then head into that folder and run dxsetup.exe. Simple enough, right?
