Modesty - why partial?

Regarding that partial ban of mine, please explain exactly which one of my posts about earthquakes you’re actually targeting here.
I’ve made plenty of posts where I didn't insult anyone just to get flagged.

Don't try to tell me it was because of that one post where I added a heart at the end to show some love—the one you conveniently deleted when it suited you.

rustydrifter10, I’m asking you to look into this. The way Modesty handles moderation is practically elementary school level. My dad could outrun yours.😵🙂

Before I even dive into looking at this, it’s worth keeping in mind that someone almost never gets a partial ban just because of one single post; usually, it’s the result of a longer, more sustained streak of being unhelpful or just plain toxic on the forum.

Modesty slapped me with a partial credit rating despite me having 80 points.

I personally took a 100-point hit for a single post in that subforum, and several of my posts were wiped out too, which wasn't even her call but someone else's decision based entirely on the vibe of my writing style. She’s incredibly strict, so there's honestly no point in hanging out in any subforums she manages.

That's exactly why I got slapped with 100 points and a one-day ban that somehow stretched into four days.

Keep in mind that when I called her out for trolling, she actually was trolling by linking to a crystal ball reading. She didn't punish herself; she punished everyone else. If she were a competent moderator, she would have linked to a thread on fringe science instead of fortune-telling. Plus, she’s one of the few people who doesn't even have the option to receive direct messages. That says enough. They'll probably start banning people from the disaster zones soon too; the topic is high-tension and they are way too quick to click the ban button. You see how often I mention strikes, and that's because every time I posted in there, I knew a strike from her was coming.

However, I still have serious questions regarding how fair her moderation actually is—but I covered all that in my previous post.
She’s supposedly some kind of top-tier moderator over at Microsoft in the Help Desk section, which barely has five posts to its name.
Besides, she won't show up here, and don't even get me started on the Democratic Party.

Look, driftingtinker, those are just the facts. If Modesty were moderating the Economics subforum, everyone would have been banned ages ago. They’d probably have the whole section locked down by now. Even over in the cars section, people trade insults left and right and nobody ever gets banned. I was just pointing out how inconsistent the moderation is across different boards. My post that got me hit with a 100-point penalty was nothing more than a polite heads-up to a new user about being careful with what they post. There wasn't a single insult or anything remotely aggressive in there. Honestly, if I had actually been insulting someone, I probably would've caught a permanent ban. For crying out loud, stop trying to defend her. And you can see for yourselves that I didn't even get a warning for that post; if she were running that board, I would've racked up five warnings by now. Jbte, since I first signed up, I haven't encountered anyone this arrogant, looking at my entire history since 2007. I’ve racked up 300 points total, which is plenty by my standards.
Because of my 85 cumulative points, she went ahead and slapped a permanent ban on my threads regarding Earthquakes and in the ban corner.
She must be absolutely shaken up, considering she won't even show her face to respond.

Out of those 80 current points, my 45 are basically just a lovely little series of insults aimed at other forums dating back to August 17th.

Like I told my colleague, partial bans don't just happen on a whim or an impulse. They're mostly for general impressions, usually a joint decision made by all the thread mods plus some supernatural higher power.

My colleague clearly isn't playing around, and honestly, I only jumped in to point out a few minor, unimportant details that got missed, so I'm done there. Both partials are a massive blow to the subforum in question, but I guess we'll find a way to get past it eventually.
