It’s pretty obvious now—you can't even join the conversation on these topics unless you're out there parroting the official Coronavirus narrative.

I've been hanging out on this forum for 15 years. In that time, I've put up over 7,000 posts, and maybe two of them actually got deleted.

Honestly, I can't even remember the last time anyone scrubbed one of my posts.

But lately? In just the last week, half of what I've written has been wiped away.

It’s not like I lost my mind in seven days and suddenly forgot how to write a coherent, on-topic sentence—so this is clearly some other kind of crackdown.

I’m noticing the exact same thing lately, where the forum police seem to have become incredibly—how should I put this?—bloodthirsty. 😁 Even my own totally harmless comments have been scrubbed away.

It seems to me there are two distinct types of moderators here: you have the educated, intelligent, witty, well-read, charming, and genuinely fun ones... 👍 and then you have those who, unfortunately, remind me of old-school military officers, precinct cops, or low-level bureaucrats from some bygone era of government overreach. 🙄

The kind of characters that my Canadian neighbors would describe as being completely "thick-headed." It's hard to find an exact American equivalent for that specific nuance, but let's just say they lack any sense of finesse. 😁

So, here is how the situation plays out: sometime before midnight, a moderator rolls in and cleans up a thread, deleting a few trivial posts. Fine, whatever. But just as the police never truly sleep, these stubborn, old-guard moderators decide to "review" their colleague's work, and then the very next day around lunchtime, they come back to sweep through the thread again, deleting a massive pile of posts. Seriously, how is this supposed to be a good thing?🕺

Regarding that PDF on the Coronavirus. I honestly feel like you sent the moderators off to some intense training camp in East Germany, the Soviet Union, or even China... They’ve become so incredibly rigid and overbearing, acting just like old-school police officers from a bygone era. 😁
They even wiped out my post about the "vaccine vending machine"—you know, that concept of an automated station for instant shots? It’s like they completely fail to grasp a bit of dark humor.

A total purge of the undesirables. And yeah, I’m right in the middle of them; apparently, we need to maintain that strict 20:80 ratio in favor of the Coronavirus zealots, just because the higher-ups ordered it. Truth is a bitter pill to swallow. It’s much easier to just gag anyone who dares to point at it—then everything looks perfect and tidy, and it makes it seem like only the freaks are thinking differently. 🙂

They scrapped the 80:20 split; now we’re aiming for 50:50, given how things are going in the country. Seems fair, doesn't it? Now it's 80:20 for the anti-vaxxers.

Recommendation: start writing less, or we'll be forced to clean you out ourselves. The issue is nobody else can get a word in because of you. You just repeat the same thing over and over anyway. Post a selfie or a picture of a cat instead—that's what the internet is actually for. We are removing those who actively obstruct and aggressively push the anti-vax mantra. Give the vaxxers some room to chant their own. Everyone needs space. And refresh your propaganda. People tune out. Don't repeat yourself. Once is fine; twice is just an advertisement.

The 80:20 split might (?) be unique to the conspiracy theory section, though even that is highly questionable; on any other topic, anti-Corona vaccine advocates never stood a chance because accounts get suspended, bans are issued, or posts simply vanish.
Personally, I barely write anything—just the occasional post here and there—so, excuse me, but what you're claiming about us suffocating the space is a total contradiction of reality.
Nobody is stopping the pro-vaxxers from chanting their slogans, but it seems they lack actual arguments, so in the end, they’re the ones just trolling. It’s obvious they shut up once you hit them with an argument they can't answer. That is a far cry from us preventing them from having a space to write. How could we even manage that?

Besides, when it comes to Corona vaccine discussions, is it okay to say the same thing a million times? Does that not bother you? In reality, the situation on this forum is closer to 70:30 in favor of the pro-vaxxers. It has always been that way, except in the conspiracy theory section, and now even this anti-vax corner is bothering you, despite it being perfectly clear who is going to congregate here.
It’s obvious it hurts your feelings that the anti-Corona vaccine crowd is gaining ground, not just on this forum but in the real world, so you find it best to throw out partial truths—because if you don't hear them or see them, then they supposedly don't exist.
It is clear that most people aren't going to want a third or any subsequent shot, and accordingly, it is perfectly understandable why darkjackal7 gets called out when pointing that out.

When you don't like the news, the best move is to kill the messenger, right? If the messenger is gone, the news disappears with them. 😁

I guess the anti-vax crowd is definitely just bigger and louder. People who got vaccinated don't really have much motivation to fight them, honestly. They either did it or they didn't, and they just don't care enough to argue about it.

Why does it seem like so many people are getting banned for posting in those COVID threads? I haven't received a single notification about it—anyone else? And why am I locked out of the ban appeals section too? Are they handing out penalties for everything these days? It feels like anyone who doesn't just parrot the official government line gets silenced, even when we're being perfectly civil in our discussions.

Since I didn't get an actual notice, does anyone know how long these bans usually last?
