Look, Waterworld actually had a decent plot even if the execution totally flopped at the end. This? This sounds so stupidly dumb that it might actually work.😁

This is just a total Mad Max rip-off. As far as I know, the books the movie is based on didn't even come out until 2001. Since the original Mad Max 1979 came out way before that, this is nothing but a blatant copy.

People online are talking it up, but honestly? It looks like a mashup of young adult tropes and a cheap rip-off of Howl's Moving Castle and Mad Max. I'm really not digging that ☕

Looks like this might be another big flop for this year... honestly, I feel like Peter Jackson is overrated—he really just rode the coattails of Tolkien's fame. Regardless of who actually developed the lore, based on the book alone, it wouldn't even be missed...

Seriously, this is hands down the biggest pile of trash I’ve ever sat through. The movie starts off feeling like something decent until that Terminator-zombie shows up, and then it just completely falls apart into total garbage.

Honestly, hearing Hugo Weaving’s voice in every single scene is the only thing keeping this from being an absolute zero—it gives the film a momentary lift—but then every other scene just drags it right back down into the dirt.🤣

Whoever wrote the book based on this... someone seriously needs to take away their pen and paper. Like, permanently.

I'm not sure what you're getting at, but Mortal Engines is just the first book in a four-part series. I'm reading it now, and the author, Philip Reeve, is actually really happy with how the movie turned out. 😁 By the way, the first novel was released here under the title deadly machine.

Unfortunately, Peter Jackson didn't actually direct this one; it was Christian Rivers instead.

Biggest flop of the year? Word on the street is it barely pulled in a third of its budget.

The concept sounds pretty intriguing to me, but then again, judging by the trailer, the execution feels like something aggressively primitive.

We caught it last night, and honestly, it was pretty decent. Even with all the trashy elements and those modern tropes they use when casting characters nowadays, it’s still a fun watch.
But man, I still have a soft spot for Waterworld.

Honestly, calling this movie a total mess of vegetables is probably the best way I can put it. The young heroes were pretty mediocre, and the Terminator vibe was a complete bust—his voice was so grating I actually had to turn the volume down whenever he spoke. As for Valentin, he’s just your run-of-the-mill dictator, nothing special there either.

The only things that actually stood out were those spectacular cities on caterpillars; that floating sky city was pretty cool too. The final showdown was decent enough.

Total garbage for fifteen-year-olds.
It’s basically Twilight, Katniss, and Mad Max mashed together. There isn't a single original idea or creative choice to be found; almost every scene reminds me of some other movie I've already seen.

Waiting for this movie to finally end is pure torture.

Alright, it’s definitely worth a watch—the production value is top-tier. Honestly, I’ve sat through much worse garbage lately. It’s certainly not as bad as the actual plot might suggest.

I get what you're saying, he isn't that bad. I just think they should have handled that Terminator character differently. Instead of having him kill off the girl's promise, it would've been cooler if his whole arc was about switching sides to help them fight Valentine. That way, the Chinese girl wouldn't have died.

Then, after the war, the Terminator could be a free "man" just living his life, maybe drifting away from the girl once the promise is fulfilled. A perfect happy ending.

Honestly, the movie would’ve been way better if that Terminator guy wasn't even in it, or if they at least fixed his annoying dialogue. I'm not sure how he's portrayed in the book, by the way.

The rest was pretty solid.
