Mouse keeps disconnecting

My mouse keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on my laptop every few seconds—sometimes it’s constant, sometimes it’s just intermittent. I actually went out and bought a completely different mouse just to rule it out, but the exact same thing is happening, which leads me to believe the issue is rooted in the laptop itself. Everything else seems to be functioning perfectly fine, so if anyone has encountered this glitch or has a fix, please, I am begging for some help here!

Your USB port is shot and losing connection... just use another one. ☕

...or maybe the wires right where the cord meets the mouse just finally gave out after years of heavy use... you could always just trim back that section of the cable if you know someone who’s handy with a soldering iron.

I've already tested every single port available on this machine, and the result is identical—total failure.

I've cycled through more mice than I care to admit, and it's always the same damn story.

Could be anything from busted wins in some game to a dead motherboard or a fried power supply... too many things could go wrong.
