I’ve got a Pixma 3300, and honestly, it was working just fine over Wi-Fi until it completely lost its mind. Now, whenever I try to swap out ink, it tells me it can't recognize any of it. I went in to clean some dust off the print head and realized—oh boy—that some black ink has been leaking inside for the last few months and made a total mess. I tried cleaning everything up with Q-tips, and the chips themselves didn't look dirty, but now the printer is claiming it doesn't recognize any of the four colors. Sometimes it even acts weird and says there are two black cartridges registered instead of one. It even threw an error code 6502 at me. I’ve already tried all the standard cleaning cycles, which did nothing. I even uninstalled all the software from my PC and did a fresh reinstall, plus tried those little tricks where you hold down the resume button... At this point, I think I'll just buy all new ink and new chips in case the old ones got mixed up.
Should I try taking the print head out and soaking it in distilled water? Or is it better to just take it to a repair shop like Best Buy?
What do you guys think is going on here? (Both my computer and the printer are acting totally haywire right now)
I would really appreciate any suggestions you might have. 🙂
