Same deal with my sister? 😁

After a long, long time, I’m just coasting through a lazy weekend. Sleeping in, reading out on the porch, finally unplugging from work... it’s not a bad feeling. ☕ 😬

The Valley to finale 😲 🙏

Give me a break. I’ve got an HOA meeting starting in half an hour, and honestly, I’d pay a hundred bucks just to skip it. 🥱

Drew Lewis2 Jamie Davis9 said:Jamie Davis9, you might want to just listen then. I suppose I should probably address this, though I find myself increasingly exhausted by the sheer lack of substance being tossed around here lately. It’s becoming quite a chore to stay engaged when every discussion feels like it's circling the drain of mediocrity. 😬

It’s fine, I suppose, though "fine" feels like an insult to the concept of quality itself.

Good morning. 🙂

And honestly, goodgoodnotbad, I’ve been there too—I've used them myself. 🎉

Look... take the Heathen album. It's easily one of the finest products of Western civilization. 😁😁

Perfect Circle - The Package

This album was a masterpiece... back when Tool and Maynerd actually commanded respect. 😁
It's aged incredibly well... 😁

Half Moon Run - Narrow Margins

Moniker - Milestone 2

Half Moon Run - Favourite Boy

Seu Jorge - Everybody Loves The Sunshine

Jimmy Nail Ain't No Doubt

Henry Mitchell29, lest I forget—any suggestion involving David Bowie, especially tracks from that album up there, hits the spot for me perfectly.

David Bowie - Slip Away :P 🙂)

absolute perfection, pure gold:

the gift 😍😍

Leb i sol - Godfather's Straw Nothing personal. Just some obsessive questioning, that sound, jazz, and all that. 🙂

That's actually a great question... 🤣

Ancient American enigmas

So, my immediate circle at work—which is basically its own little island within the larger organization I work for—is relatively small.

Yet, somehow, I’m the only one from the South here, aside from one lovely older colleague who saved me from feeling like an absolute moron earlier this week. Otherwise, I would have spent my morning feeling like the only idiot in all of Chicago (including my students, and believe me, they are a variety of weirdo 😁) because I actually decided to wear sandals at 8 AM in 50-degree weather and walk down to the Millennium Park area just breathing out puffs of frost, purely because someone had the nerve to tell me they wore sandals the other day and call us Southerners nothing but fools. And honestly, it wasn't just that. 😁

Anyway, I also happen to have the best boss in the entire world, a guy who makes sure to give me a hard time whenever the Yankees play poorly, which, let's face it, is pretty much always: View on imgur

And that is exactly why I love Chicago so much. 🙂
