OB/GYN Recommendations - Indianapolis

Can anyone recommend a decent gynecologist in Indianapolis? Ideally a woman... Since this would be my first time visiting a specialist, I’m feeling a bit lost on where to start. I’ve been in a relationship for quite a while now, so I've been thinking about starting birth control.

Look, you've got your private sector players and then you've got everyone else. :-) I think Mirjana Laušin is alright, but as for the rest? Your guess is as good as mine.

Honestly, I’d much rather go the non-private route—I actually had an info session with Dr. Laušin once and she’s genuinely wonderful. But paying out of pocket just seems pointless when I can find someone through the public system instead...

Is that the one near the little church, the post office, and the library?
I'm also hunting for a gynecologist in Indianapolis—specifically looking for someone private—but I don't actually live here, I'm just in town for college. Is that going to be an issue at all?
Plus, I heard through the grapevine that they aren't even taking new patients anymore, and I really need to see someone ASAP.

Yes, that’s exactly where it is.

A couple of years back—it was actually around September 2006—I tried to transfer my medical records from the Retfala clinic over to Dr. Galović, but they weren't taking on any new patients at the time.

I’m not entirely sure how things stand today, but if I were you, I’d try calling them early in the morning, maybe between 7:00 and 7:30 AM; they are notoriously difficult to reach by phone later in the day—honestly, it might be easier just to swing by in person. If my memory serves me right, they usually have morning hours on even-numbered dates.

While I was browsing the local directory, I did come across another physician:

I’m not positive if she’s in private practice, though—you should probably double-check that part.

As far as private specialists go, I’d highly recommend Dr. Laušin or Associate Professor Branko Lederer.

If you’re dealing with something urgent, Dr. Lederer is quite wonderful because you can often get an appointment scheduled very quickly—whereas with Dr. Laušin or some of the other private doctors, the waiting lists tend to be rather long.

He is incredibly professional, and if it’s an emergency, he can usually find a way to squeeze you into his schedule almost immediately. I really hope this helps you out a little bit!

It isn't private, though I guess they are incredibly busy—when I was switching doctors, they weren't even taking new patients, unless I remember correctly—I actually managed to get in through a connection.

Same boat here... I've been seeing her for two years now, 🙄 and honestly, she's the best. Both her and the nurse are super nice; you can actually have a decent conversation with them.👍
