Does anyone know if seeing this kind of content on websites is standard practice?

Which "last link" are we talking about? I've scrolled through plenty of them.🤷

What kind of stuff? If you mean comments—usually, .js files get minified to save bandwidth, which strips those out. It's not standard practice for every developer yet, though, so you'll still run into comments left in the web code—both in JS and HTML.

To looks like nothing more than basic validation functions to check user input—stuff like making sure the format is right, enough digits are entered, or the SSN is valid... Once that’s checked on the client side, it just gets sent over to the server for processing. It doesn't actually have anything to do with data security.

EDIT: I clearly didn't read all the replies before hitting send. MarkerInTheSand already covered this...

For about ten days now, whenever I attempt to log into my JP Morgan Chase online banking, I am met with this message:
"Certificate ERROR: There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid."

I haven't changed any settings on my end. I am using IE. In a similar—or at least what appears to be similar 😁—discussion regarding electronic banking, someone suggested that
"there could be three possibilities:
1. Your certificate has expired.
2. Your MTU is too large.
3. Your Java is acting up.

My questions are as follows: 1. What exactly is an MTU? I must admit, I am a complete novice here. 😁
2. How does one resolve it if "Java is acting up"? (Though I find that unlikely, given my computer recently ran some updates... you know the drill, when you shut down, do you install them or just skip?
3. Could there be a third factor at play?
(By the way, I checked the certificates in my Tools; the one for the bank exists and is valid until June 2013. If it matters, I use Norton as my antivirus.)

I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. Given that we are dealing with JP Morgan Chase, this is not a matter I take lightly. Thank you.

Just grab that JP Morgan Chase root cert and toss it straight into your trusted root certification authorities list.
That’s literally all you gotta do.

You can find —just look at that first notification. There’s an .exe file sitting right there that you need to run, and I guess that’s pretty much all there is to it...

Here we go... Chase is hiking up their online and mobile banking fees starting December 1st. It’s going from $1.75 to $2.75, and they're splitting everything into $0.33 internal and $0.67 external payments...

For now, bills at Penguin Random House aren't hitting us with any commission fees.

Can someone tell me if all banks charge small businesses a monthly fee for online banking even if you don't use it? Like, even if there aren't any transactions? For example, JPMorgan Chase hits me with $17 every month regardless of whether I actually moved any money or not. Is that just how all the banks here in the US work?

Let me clarify.
It honestly infuriates me how much Goldman Sachs charges for every single transaction I make. 🙂
And that’s not even the worst part—they’re also tacking on fees based on a percentage of the deposit... it's maddening.
As if there’s any difference to the computer processing the payment. Did I pay for my electricity $55 based on whether I used $555...
how many lights were on?
Is there any way out of this?
Does a bank actually exist that offers a flat monthly fee regardless of how many transactions I run or how much money I move?
Or are we all just sitting ducks for these banks?

Most banks have already ditched those percentage-based fees, but does anyone actually exist that doesn't charge at least a buck or $0.67 per transaction?
Some places offer bundles—like JPMorgan Chase—where you get a set number of transactions included in your monthly fee, but once you hit that limit, you're paying per move again.

Take Bank of America, for instance. Processing USD transfers to accounts at other banks carries a 0.50% fee, with a minimum of $0.67 and a maximum of $17.

What’s the absolute longest an interbank transfer can take when you set it up via online or mobile banking?

In my experience, if you submit the order in the morning, the funds leave your account immediately and usually land in the recipient's account by 6:00 PM at the latest. That's how it has always worked for me.

However, I submitted a transfer yesterday morning. The money was deducted from my balance instantly, but it still hasn't shown up in the recipient's account.

Is this normal, or should I be worried?

Answering my own question: the deposit cleared. The transfer took 24 hours.

it really just comes down to when you placed the order and how fast the ACH transfer clears (you should probably check Chase or some other big bank's site for the specifics), so if you put it through late in the afternoon it might not settle until tomorrow... it’s likely that one of the banks involved in the middle didn't finish their authorization process on your end right away

Back when I was using JPMorgan Chase, they used to hit me with a percentage fee every single time I went into a branch to make a cash deposit for my business account—it was a total racket. Since switching over to online banking, the fees have dropped to just 1-$0.67 per transaction. Before that, with those branch deposits, I was easily losing up to $10 :P
As for the online banking platform itself, honestly, it’s been fantastic. I haven't even stepped foot inside a JPMorgan Chase branch in 😁 years. If I ever actually need to drop off some cash, I just head to an ATM and deposit it directly into my account 🙂
