🤷 I mean, if he pulls that and messes up other voltages too, we might have a problem. At least there's a warranty, though you'll probably just need a rubber band to wipe away the mess.

I really need to find some time to tinker with my own motherboard. I honestly can't believe I can't hit even a 300 Max FSB. It could very well be a BIOS issue. With my old BIOS, I could never get a processor higher than 2.5 GHz, whether I was running it 24/7 or just using it for testing.

I don't know much about AMD myself, but I do know that this is a solid board.

And that is exactly where the issue lies. According to various reviews, even some of the weaker units can push past 400 Max FSB. Perhaps I am simply doing something wrong on my end.🤔

Where are you even finding this stuff? They’ll dock your rating for something like that in a heartbeat! 😁

Don't even get me started on that "don't send" nonsense; it’s completely useless now. Honestly, I spent way too much time dealing with endless errors and sheer stupidity back when I was running Windows XP, though—and there is always a massive "but" in these discussions—XP remains the gold standard for both low-end rigs and beefy workstations alike. It just works. You give it a tiny bit of breathing room and it gives you everything in return, which is more than I can say for most modern OSs, unless you count Linux.
I’m sticking with Vista Ultimate for the time being because, quite frankly, it’s the only thing actually running smoothly on my machine, whereas everything else seems to hit a brick wall when I try to push past 4GB of RAM.😁Everything runs significantly faster than it did back when we were stuck using Windows XP; I’ve observed this firsthand through several practical tests. For instance, I have a D-Link modem that connects via a LAN connection to an old XP machine, and once the system actually boots up, I’m forced to sit there for three to four minutes just waiting for the OS to finally "find" the hardware. Compare that to my current setup, where the connection is established in maybe five to ten seconds at most, and it really highlights how much more efficient modern systems have become.

To be honest, I’m still feeling pretty skeptical about these rumors 😁
I think I'll be sticking with XP for a long, long time

And honestly, XP works just fine; I wasn't suggesting otherwise, aside from my previous point😁....👍👍

It’s a total wash; I’ve tried bumping up the voltage and cranking the cooling, but once I hit that 510MHz FSB wall, everything just falls apart. No amount of tinkering seems to help.
wiredmarlin5, how’s your overclocking journey going with that P35 chipset?

steelsailor3 said:Hey wiredmarlin5, how's that overclocking progress coming along with that P35 chipset?

Well, I’ve still got the cooler sitting right on top of the CPU, mostly because that stubborn little H-series chip is still glued tight to the old motherboard...

I spent a bit of time today working on it with a hobby knife... so, if all goes well, I should be able to get everything stripped down and mounted onto the DS3P by tomorrow...

Once that's settled, then I can finally go after that 4GHz+ mark!

The only real headache is that this board only lets me adjust the voltage in 0.05V increments once I pass 1.6V... which is honestly kind of frustrating, because back in the day, an old motherboard from an Intel build would let you tweak things by 0.0125V or even smaller steps...

I feel like I’ve hit a wall at 510MHz, and honestly, that’s with the CPU sitting at 1.4V, the RAM—which is just standard Kingston😬 gear, by the way—running at 2.2V, and pushing the chipset about 0.2V north of stock settings.
You might actually be able to squeeze a bit more overclocking out of this thing, but I don't know... I'm almost too attached to it to risk breaking anything.😁

What kind of nonsense is this? This is stuff wiredmarlin5 could handle in his sleep... 😉

Way to go🙏
I figured you could pull it off, you young whippersnapper🧐
You definitely earned yourself a gold medal though this one’s actually for competitive pig racing, and I haven't got a spare on me😁😁😁

darkowl72 said:😉I really do feel a profound sense of care regarding this whole situation, because when you sit back and truly contemplate the ripple effects of these decisions on our local communities, it becomes so much more than just a simple matter of policy or procedure... it touches upon the very fabric of how we interact with one another in this great nation, and I find myself constantly ruminating on whether we are doing enough to protect the interests of the average citizen who just wants a fair shake... it’s all quite heavy if you think about it too long, but I remain incredibly optimistic that if we approach this with genuine empathy and a bit of common sense, we can navigate these choppy waters together... turns out, heart matters just as much as logic does in the end...

You're very welcome! I am more than happy to help you out with this whenever you're ready... just let me know what you need! 👍 By the way, you don't exactly need to be some kind of rocket scientist or a total genius just to hunt down the absolute maximum FSB...😁I haven't actually messed around with any mods or tweaked anything under the hood... I’ve just been keeping everything completely stock, exactly how it came from the factory...

steelsailor3 said:Way to go! Truly impressive stuff...🙏

You truly earned it... you really did! I was just sitting here thinking about that whole situation regarding the medal... you know, the one everyone has been buzzing about lately... and it really makes you wonder about the weight of these things, both physically and symbolically, because sometimes a simple piece of metal carries more gravity than an entire lifetime of effort, though I suppose that might be a bit dramatic, isn't it? But still, when you look at the history behind such honors in our country, it's almost overwhelming how much pride is poured into a single moment of recognition... anyway, I digress, but I truly believe we should look closer at what this means for the future... Well, this one’s really meant for riding pigs, though I suppose I don't have any other options on hand at the moment...😁😁😁

Haha... oh, man, that really hit the spot! Just one of those little moments that catches you completely off guard and leaves you grinning like an idiot for no reason at all... absolutely hilarious! 😂 Riding a pig... honestly, now that I think about it, you’d probably need to find one of those absolute monsters, like something out of a farm documentary, just to have enough surface area to actually mount and ride without tumbling off immediately...😍

steelsailor3, hey there, quick question for you... did you manage to pull that 510MHz directly from the BIOS settings, or were you just messing around with Easy Tune?
