😁
16,390 seconds. You can't beat that. It would be even better if I actually had a Ballistix setup.😛

Thanks for the tips. I'll give it a shot and let you guys know how it goes.

And when you're in the BIOS, you have to hit Ctrl+F1 to unlock those new overclocking options. You actually know that, right?

The 16,390s really can't be beat, especially if you actually manage to get those Ballistix sticks...😛

Even if he gained 0.3 seconds, what would that even accomplish? If his processor starts pushing past 400 FBI... now *that* would be quite the undertaking...🙂

Yeah, I did. Managed to bump it up to 3GHz. The only thing is, whenever I switch the system voltage to manual, I keep getting that "voltages are not optimized" warning, but if I leave it on auto, it seems fine. Anyway, I'll post some screenshots of my settings in a bit so you guys can take a look.

You should probably just switch it to manual...🙂

Here's the shot.

So, I guess I should just leave it as is, even if the flashing means they aren't optimized.

Yeah, mine's flickering too...😉

A temperature issue???
Don't even think about bumping up the voltage on either the CPU or the RAM...😉
If you're pushing past 3 gigahertz, then maybe...

Alright, I'll try swapping that out and let you know how it goes.

Man, you should just go for it... crank that thing up to 3.5GHz... just purely for the thrill of seeing if it actually holds...

Honestly, you shouldn't even need to mess with the voltage to hit 3GHz... in like 99% of cases, it'll just handle it smoothly...

So, a buddy of mine was messing around yesterday and bumped his clock speed up to 3.33 GHz. He had the memory at 1000 and set the CPU voltage to 1.6V plus an extra 0.2V for the RAM. The PC booted, but then just froze right in the middle of running 3DMark. Later, he tried pushing it to 3.5 GHz with 1.8V, saved the settings, and then the whole thing wouldn't even POST—it would just power on and immediately shut down. I had to kill the power, try again, and eventually pull the CMOS battery just to reset everything. I guess there goes my warranty.

Are you actually out of your mind? Running a CPU at 1.8V with just the stock cooler attached??????

Even if you’ve got a high-end liquid cooling setup installed, you really shouldn't be pushing past 1.7V.... seriously...

If you want that processor to actually survive longer than a single season, don't you dare go over 1.6V... ever...😉

Maybe take a breather and dial back the excitement regarding these voltage levels...

A buddy of mine was messing around with it. I don't know the first thing about overclocking, and apparently, he’s no expert either. He might end up bricking the whole thing.

Everything seems to be looking pretty good so far... I would just suggest running a bit more stress testing to be absolutely certain, specifically keeping a close eye on those temperatures to make sure they don't climb past 61 degrees Celsius. You might want to pull up Orthofix, select the option for small FFTs, and just let it run through its paces for a few hours... if you don't see any error messages popping up and that temperature stays safely under 61, then you can rest easy knowing everything is totally fine!

If they’re already cranking up the voltage, why stop at 2V? 🙄 Why not just go all out?

And why on earth wouldn't we just go with 3?
