I've got a question for you guys... I'm looking to do a little bit of light cosmetic work on my case, so I was wondering
are there actually such a thing as 100 mm diagonal fans for cases? Or am I just thinking of those 92 mm ones?

The current industry standards you'll run into are 80, 92, 120, and 140mm. While it is theoretically possible to find a 100mm option out there—much like how you might occasionally stumble upon an odd-sized bolt at a hardware store—I've honestly never come across one in any retail listings I've checked...

Notice how they list things like 80 or 92? That’s actually the distance between the CENTERS of adjacent holes. They always use that specific measurement when talking about fan size, never the spacing between opposite holes, the rotor diameter, or the overall fan dimensions. And that 100mm diagonal? It ends up being some weird non-standard size of about 70mm. Standard should be 74mm, though I've honestly never seen that on a case before. Those 74mm fans are most famous for being used on Intel box coolers for Athlon64 builds, from the early days all the way to the latest versions.

So, I’ve got a 100 mm diagonal clearance in this case, but looking at what's actually available in the shops, the closest thing anyone is offering is 92 mm...

Scythe actually uses a 100mm on their Musashi cooler..
but I've been scouring the shops and there's zero sign of a 100mm anywhere. Not even on eBay or DealExtreme... nothing.

So, I went over to a buddy's place to check those specs—measured it myself: the distance from hole to hole is 100 mm, but the fan is only 80 mm wide.

Right now, all we've managed to do is make the whole thing out of plexiglass and light it up with neon tubes...
We were wondering about something though:
There's this guy at school who actually has a spoiler mounted on his case...
Does anyone know where you can even buy something like that? And has anyone here actually tried it?

Just cut a hole in the case big enough to wedge the spoiler in there. Honestly, hit up a local body shop to see if you can snag some 🤣

I'm not modding this thing to save money—it's more like I have way too much cash left over from Christmas and nothing else to spend it on...

Ever heard of the concept of saving money? You don't have to blow it all at once.

Yeah, well—I actually sat down and did the math on what this whole thing is gonna cost, and I'll be left with about $233-$250... and even then, I'll probably just spend it all on cigarettes anyway. So there.

I'm not entirely sure where you'd even find one for sale, but I suspect it wouldn't be too difficult to put together on your own, provided you have the right gear and put in some serious work.

Can someone tell me how much an LED fan actually costs? I've got my case all set up with a clear side panel, two blue neon lights, and one red one, so now I want to grab a few more LED fans to match.

I grabbed some from eBay for a steal... like 2 or 3 bucks each... just standard 120mm blue LEDs.
But honestly? They're pretty much useless. Sure, they're cheap and look cool, but they don't move any air.
The ones I'm looking at—maybe $50 range?$20 Over here, you really want something pushing more than 50-60 CFM, whereas those cheap knockoffs usually sit around 20... 😢
