Claws, huh? Hilarious.
That’s just some leftover junk from my old amplifier; right now, I’ve got it hooked up to my PC monitoring decibels and megahertz... I actually have another one lying around, but since it’s completely useless to me, I haven't even bothered setting it up. If I find the time today, I might head over to a local auto body shop to see if they can sand it down and give it a quick coat of paint, then I'll start hunting for some LEDs....
I swung by a Home Depot the other day, but they were completely out of 12V bulbs—it was a disaster. For now, I’ve just got two standard yellow ones inside the case, which honestly ruins the aesthetic of the build, but I installed a switch so I can kill the power to them whenever I want. To be honest, I ended up using two old incandescent bulbs because they were rated for 8V; since the power supply output is 12V, they run a bit hot, so I can't leave them on for extended periods without risking something.
Anyway, I could use some help tracking down some LEDs—specifically the blue ones!🙂

I went out and picked up a lighter with a blue LED => $1.75
And how on earth did you set it up so your "gauges" are actually measuring MHz?!?!?!

To be fair, they were already measuring kHz on the old amplifier; I simply misspoken during my previous comment... my apologies.
#166 ·
That is laughable. kHz has absolutely nothing to do with volume levels...
dB—decibels, if you want to be precise—is what measures loudness. On the other hand, kHz is how we gauge the quality and frequency response of an audio output... 🙂

I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT!!!
I read above that dB is used as the measurement, which is exactly why I was thinking about this!!!
If I had actually specified how large it was, you would have just jumped in to claim that kHz refers to frequency—basically arguing that size isn't measured that way!!!
Try using a little logic for once.

I have no desire to engage in petty bickering, as online forums were never intended to be arenas for such trivial disputes; however, one must wonder if anyone here actually applies a shred of basic logic to their arguments.
I simply posed a question regarding your level of understanding—it is hardly my place to presume what you do or do not know.

I didn't quote any of your posts, so I wasn't specifically targeting a question from one of your threads.
You really should have assumed I was already in the loop—this isn't exactly a topic for the "average Joe" anyway!!!

If I were being serious, haha—but I wasn't; I just wanted to see how you’d react. I was teasing you a bit, though if you take me too literally, it ends up looking like sheer nonsense. Of course I already knew!
And if this isn't meant for "ordinary people"... well, then what does that make us if we aren't ordinary? What kind of extraordinary people are we supposed to be!?!
Oh, one more thing... I happened to stumble upon some of your posts regarding programming... and I noticed you're aiming to study at MIT... where are you based, anyway?

Purely amusing!
I don't believe you have provided much information regarding which specific location you are calling home.
Haha.🙂

Look, there’s some truth to what was said—there’s a bakery and a traffic light right here... but honestly, from one city to the next, you'll find the same damn bakeries and the same lights everywhere. You might even run into me somewhere out there by the year 2045!!!

Alright, let me jump in here too:
First, here’s a photo of the case with the side panel off.
Then, there’s a photo of the build in the dark. Just one LED and the stock fan glowing.
And finally, a photo of the whole rig.
Look, I know it's nothing groundbreaking, but I actually put some effort into cable management—tucked everything away behind the motherboard. Since the fan had some light, I picked up an extra LED strip just to beef up that blue glow. The plan is to grab a blue CPU cooler next, and maybe even go for one of those clear acrylic cases—though they're pricey, man. I think they go for about $267, so we'll see where my money goes after that. 😁

I have just one question for you, since you claim everything on there is completely stock—do you mean it’s truly factory-original, or did you take some time to sand and drill things down yourself?
By the way, this looks pretty slick when the lights are out.😉

It’s nothing crazy, but I did put some work into the cable management behind the motherboard. Since the fan had lights, I picked up an extra LED to boost the blue glow. You’ve got the same monitor as me.😍 😍
Same side vent panel, too....😁

Raymond Hernandez14 said:I've only got one question here—since you're claiming this thing is totally stock, are we talking factory serial, or did you actually get in there and start grinding and drilling stuff out yourself?
Honestly, this looks pretty cool in the dark.😉
I didn't do any brushing or buffing. 😁
I just mounted the neon strip and got the cables organized. That's it.
I don't have a ton of time right now, but maybe one of these days...

And that side vent cover too....😁
😲 And here I was thinking I was the only one rocking Beline?!?
Seriously though—does your monitor flicker or something when you swap resolutions? It drives me absolutely insane.
As for that side panel, it came with the case. Honestly, I wasn't planning on DIY-ing a custom glass side anyway—it's good enough as it is.

Mine flickers constantly. 😁 😁 😁
Every time I launch a game, there's a black screen, then the flickering starts, then it finally loads...🙂
My rig is 7 years old and still runs great. That flickering doesn't bother me at all.😬

Nice start, but we’re still in the early stages here.
Level 3 is looking pretty dark with 3+
The 2 is open => nothing groundbreaking yet, just organized
The full 3 => I’m actually digging the front chassis grill
I started out way similar to this, and look where that landed me (link below)!!!
