Hey everyone, I’m dealing with this really bizarre issue with my PC and I honestly have no clue what’s actually going on here. A few nights ago, my brother accidentally bumped the edge of the desk pretty hard, and the whole computer just shut off instantly. Then, being a bit reckless during the reboot, I tried hitting the case to see if I could "fix" it, and the first couple of times it just died again. I kept tapping on the chassis a few more times and it seemed fine for a while, until tonight when it cut out again just from me pulling on the side panel. I'm stumped, but I'm starting to wonder if the case, which features a https://www.dateks.lv/en/cenas/korpu...black_350w_psu, might be causing some kind of short circuit against the motherboard, which is a http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/G...DS3H-rev-11#ov. I’ve double-checked all the connections multiple times and everything looks seated perfectly, so if anyone has run into something similar or has an idea of what might be triggering these sudden shutdowns, please let me know. Any advice on how to troubleshoot this would be a huge lifesaver.

You probably need to pop the case open and check if all the connectors are actually seated right. Honestly, it’d probably be best to just tear the whole PC down and rebuild it from scratch.

Didn't you already start a thread about this over in IT Help?

Either there’s some sort of short occurring between the cables—or the connectors—and the motherboard, or the hard drive itself is failing. If it's the latter, the system might be triggering an emergency shutdown during vibration just to prevent data corruption.
