Permanent ban for 1,000 points?

A permanent 1000-point ban just for commenting on that doctor’s suicide? Seriously? I didn't have any bad intentions, and honestly, I don't see how that comment warrants a lifetime ban. I was just saying there might be more cases like this—especially with people losing their jobs or struggling with poverty and all that. It’s unbelievable. And now, thanks to that one remark, the moderator thinks I'm some kind of total idiot

I could've at least gotten some kind of decent response here.
