Dear moderators and administrators, I find myself wondering if there is absolutely nothing that can be done regarding a permanent ban—or at least a total revocation of access to Reddit—for the user going by professoricarx. This is primarily due to her repeated violations of the forum rules, which explicitly prohibit the creation of clone accounts. What she is currently doing is... well, "unbelievable" feels like an understatement. I am quite certain that most of the community would agree with my perspective here.

I'm totally on board with what the OP is saying here.

Look, making clone accounts isn't against the rules, per se... unless you're already banned or if those clones start acting up and trying to confuse everyone else in the thread.

And you're actually trying to claim this is a clone? You'd just have to put in a little effort and look up which banned users are currently active, or just ask a mod—they'd know immediately. 🤷

It’s pretty unlikely anyone is going to ban you permanently just because you feel like it. 🤷 Maybe for a few days, sure, but a permanent ban? I doubt it. If anything, you'd need a really solid argument for that. And besides, the moderators don't have that kind of authority; that's more of an admin thing...

So I politely asked and got a permanent ban.

Then I made a second account and got banned immediately for being a "clone" of a banned user.
And get this—the person who banned me was someone from a totally different thread over at PZK, even though she mods something else entirely.

Oh yeah, I clearly stated who I was with that clone account ages ago, and the admin knew it was me, so they didn't use that rule back then.

So explain this to me:
- Can a "clone" of a banned user be banned if the original user retired on their own request?
- Can a mod from, say, PZ ban someone on PZK just because of a complaint filed against them?

I can back all this up with links. Happy to DM them. But if you insist, I can drop them here too.

Edit: Regarding that extended ban, maybe multiple people were involved, but ZGMSash was the one who gave it to me after I asked, and as far as I remember, he was never an admin. So, maybe he checked with the admins or whatever, but honestly, none of what you're saying seems to hold water.

I don't know, because like I said before, I haven't heard of anyone just asking for a permanent ban out of the blue without some pretty heavy justification.

Either way, the whole idea of requesting a permanent ban and then immediately cloning the account is incredibly rare...

There's really no need for that. I don't know who you are, I don't care to, and I certainly have no interest in getting involved in your personal drama; I only stepped into this thread to provide general info on the forum rules, which, let's face it, aren't always crystal clear.

You know what's actually trash? Being all dogmatic about the rules, then when someone actually points out where those rules weren't followed, you refuse to even look at the case.
