I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard people claim that having a faster metabolism is somehow "healthier" than having a slow one, but honestly? I think my system might actually be running a little too fast.
Sometimes I find myself heading to the restroom two or three times a day, and frankly, it doesn't feel particularly normal or healthy to me. Does anyone here actually know what's going on? 😕

Look, I can't really give you any medical advice or explain the science behind it, but all I can tell you is that I deal with the exact same "issue"—despite everyone telling me how lucky I am. 😬

Catch ya in 90 years, I guess. 😉

I’m jumping in here with the rest of you folks facing this "issue"🙂
Personally, it doesn't really bother me—I can eat a massive meal and it won't even stick
because everything just moves right through me the same day, haha

Same here. I’m usually hitting the bathroom twice a day, maybe three if it's one of those days. Honestly, I don't think it's an issue as long as everything looks normal—you know, nothing like a sudden bout of diarrhea. I don't have any other digestive drama, like stomach cramps or anything, so I figure there's no reason to stress out about it too much.

Still better than dealing with constipation...

It doesn't bother me—I can eat a ton and still not gain an ounce...
Everything just goes straight through me in a single day, haha...

I second that.
I only weigh about 120 pounds, but I eat like a guy who weighs 200. 😁
I'm happy with it! And always hungry... 😁

A friend of mine once complained about being constipated for seven days straight, claiming her stomach was absolutely killing her.
I simply told her that if I hadn't made it to the restroom within a seven-hour window, I’d probably be checking myself into an ER in downtown Chicago.

Seven days?! 😲 uh...
so there are more of us after all...
I’ve always been super thin, too—just one of those things. Honestly, I’d much rather deal with regular bathroom trips than go several days without being able to go. But it drives me absolutely crazy because (how should I put this?) I never know when it’s going to hit me 😁 which is a total nightmare if I'm out running errands or away from home. Especially since I am not exactly the most patient person on the planet. 😢 😢
(good grief, what a post, haha)

terrible😲 😲
Look, I'm not trying to be a know-it-all, but that's a recipe for disaster

If I could hold it in that long, my life would be a lot easier
(and I wouldn't be dealing with hemorrhoid surgery right now)

Everyone's body is different, obviously

But honestly? It's better if you have to go frequently (Kate Adams7, blondies, and everyone else)
Don't ever hold it back. That's how you end up with serious issues down the road

So... 👏 👏 👏 👏 just go!!!!!

I don't mean to freak anyone out here, but... I totally went through a phase just like this once. I was eating like there was no tomorrow—seriously, like three or four times a day—and hitting the bathroom way more than usual, too. My gut was basically on overdrive while I was looking super skinny, even though I was snacking constantly, day or night.
It took a few months, but they finally diagnosed me with hyperthyroidism, which basically just sends your metabolism into overdrive. So, just a heads-up... if you start noticing other weird stuff, like your heart racing, your legs swelling up, or feeling all jittery and hyper...

So, what actually happened once the diagnosis came in?

Why do you think long-distance bus trips are such a nightmare for me?

What’s your take on why one time, driving through the Midwest, everything felt as bleak and desolate as China or Russia?

😁😁😁

Why do you think that is?

why did a trip through some rural parts of the Midwest once make me feel like I was stuck in China or Russia
😁😁😁
why do you think that is?

It's the exact same issue.😢
(And I'm not talking about the Midwest... haha)

Ugh, being nervous doesn't even count as an excuse here...😉

Question for those of you with high metabolisms—is your stool softer too, or what?
For me, it fluctuates, but most of the time it's pretty soft. Just wondering if anyone else deals with this kind of stuff.

Why won't a medical professional just weigh in on fast metabolism? Maybe some actual info would be useful for us (if it even exists).

I find myself facing this exact same struggle. It truly wreaks havoc on one's quality of life. I have developed a profound loathing for public transit—buses and subways alike—yet the prospect of becoming an astronaut remains laughably out of reach. It’s a frustrating cycle, particularly since the issue is deeply tied to my nerves; more often than not, I find myself caught in a crisis while I'm out in the world. If I don't manage to take care of business properly in the morning, I am essentially housebound. It reaches a point where I might have to deal with it five times before I even feel capable of stepping foot outside. DAMN.

I don't deal with this personally, but my grandma and mom both have, and I know it’s been a nightmare for them lately.
Are they constantly dealing with those bladder issues and sipping on that Leck tea?🤔

I can't stand taking the bus or the subway, and don't even get me started on becoming an astronaut—that's out of the question. Even though it's tied to my nerves, which makes things even harder, I usually end up getting stuck in a mess whenever I'm forced to be out in public.

Same here. It’s actually starting to take a serious toll on me. 😠
Why isn't anyone in the medical community actually talking about this? Seriously...

Good grief, what is wrong with you, Madonna...?

I used to stick to light meals at the exact same time every day: breakfast at 9, lunch at 1, dinner at 6. Digestion was killer—super fast. Best part was knowing exactly when I’d need to hit the restroom... It wasn't like a full-on emergency or anything, just that low-key urge where you could probably make it to a Starbucks before needing to go...

So now I’m eating everything in sight... and then it hits me. I'm gonna be shitting everything in sight too once I remember...
