So, I play handball. During yesterday's game, I was driving hard toward the goal when I took a massive elbow to the chest...
An incredible wave of pain just cut right through me instantly.
Today, it only hurts if I actually touch the spot. Does anyone have any idea what I'm dealing with here?🤷

Probably just some bacteria....

.... *echinococcus idioticus*. That’s what you caught because you couldn't bring yourself to give up your seat for an old lady on the subway...

A friend of mine was turning around yesterday and accidentally caught me right in the chest with her elbow... hit me pretty hard on the left side. It hurt like crazy for a few minutes, but now it’s just tender when I touch it. Anyone have an idea what might be going on? Thanks in advance!

It’s really not a big deal.
Nothing actually broke—I mean, if a rib was busted, you wouldn't be able to take a deep breath without agony—it's just some bruising. Honestly? Don't even sweat it, it'll clear up on its own.
Keep pushing through!

It is likely just some soft tissue bruising. If you aren't feeling any pain when breathing deeply, I would suggest waiting a few days... if the tenderness subsides when touched, you should be fine.

Thanks for all the info! It doesn't hurt when I breathe... it just spiked for a few seconds today. I got a little spooked because it felt so close to my heart... hoping this clears up quickly 😉 thanks again!
