Found this on some random forum—some guy used to make our jerseys using brands like Adidas, Asics, Errea, Nike, and Puma

blueridge32 said:image This is how they should’ve done it, period. I can't find the photos right now, but Cambiasso was rocking that jersey when they won the Champions League. What is this nonsense with a vibrating kit and freaking snakes? 🙄

Then there is the matter of all those little badges representing the trophies they've won—and I suspect they'll probably include international club championships too. 🤣

The Kinez crowd is going to have a collective meltdown of pure ecstasy. 😍

Adidasov and Puma are great. I guess. Markovic makes the call, while Markovica just stuffs his pockets with cash. ☕

I have to say, these imaginary American jerseys look absolutely fantastic to me! 👍

Yeah, this Adidasov one is solid. It kind of gives me those '96 vibes...

The powerhouses are absolutely TAKING OVER!
If things had gone that way, we’d be out hitting the malls right this second—but instead, it’s just one thing after another, tick-tock, waiting for the next move...

Seriously, what are you guys smoking collectively? 😁 Look, 99% of the time we’re all on the same page about stuff, but these jerseys are just straight-up hideous. Let’s not even get started on how they barely resemble a classic checkerboard pattern—they look more like some weird away kit, but honestly, I don't even want to describe what they actually look like... I’m not trying to insult the designer because, let's be real, any major brand would probably screw up this badly, but still. If Smith is taking envelopes from Nike to make sure we're rocking their gear, he better make sure the payoff is worth it so we can stick with Nike for a long time, because frankly, I am terrified of what any other brand might try to pull on us.

Honestly, I'm mostly happy with our Nike kits—not that we all loved this current set either, but I won't sit here and complain since the squad is killing it. 😁

And there it is—the loud minority terrorizing the quiet majority. 🤣

Peter Reed70 said:So what specifically is bugging you about it?

It isn't anything specific, really; I just find it quite unsightly. 😁 It brings back far too many memories of the 90s, an era where there seemed to be endless, rather bizarre experiments involving those types of patterns, and honestly, seeing those particular designs on the sleeves feels like a direct throwback to that decade. 🤷

Regarding the American national team jersey, I generally have a distaste for the versions that feature the checkerboard pattern across the entire shirt because the numbers end up looking absolutely terrible; that "patch" or "blotch" effect on the back just ruins the aesthetic for me, and frankly, it looks quite garish. That is why I tend to prefer kit options that incorporate the checkers without covering the whole garment, especially in cases where following FIFA regulations makes the numbering look like nothing at all...

However, since we are so iconic with those squares—having essentially built a globally recognized brand out of them—we are certainly obligated to push them forward, which means I don't see much room for compromise here; we are unfortunately just stuck with these visually awkward jerseys whenever they need to put a number on them.

In my estimation, nothing quite compares to those kits we wore back during Euro 96, specifically the ones featuring that subtle checkerboard pattern running down the sleeves. They possessed such a certain grace—not garish or over-the-top, yet still instantly recognizable to any true fan...

Those red and white squares have essentially transformed into a massive commercial brand, and I am fully aware that there is a push to market them aggressively. However, in my humble opinion, they will never look quite as elegant as they did in that more understated design. I’ve always considered myself a bit of a minimalist 🤣 though perhaps not to the extreme extent of someone who would actually choose a black, blue, and white color scheme for our training gear; Smith certainly outdoes me when it comes to pure minimalism 😁 😁

Honestly, that boxy jersey from Euro 96 is easily the best kit we ever had.
The font they used for the numbers was also top-tier.🙏

If you ask me, Inter's kits are easily the best out there.

This one is definitely my favorite; I still have it and wear it. I could have picked up a newer original version at a Nike outlet recently for exactly $33, but I think that would just be throwing money away. Modern jerseys feel a bit too thin to me, they seem like they'd tear easily, and they don't really have that same identity since the designs change constantly. Plus, our national team mostly plays in blue anyway.

I actually have some original jerseys from the mid-90s at home. For instance, an Umbro one from Parma and a Kelme one from Real Madrid. I guess the material is much better than what we see today; those jerseys feel just as high-quality now as they did when I first bought them.

Regarding the current design, I think putting the red front and center is a solid move, though they really should have swapped out that blue for the numbers and gone with something like white instead. 🤷
I’m not feeling the away kits at all since they just give me major flashbacks to those kits from the start of the millennium.
The warmup jacket is actually great. 😍

🙏 🙏 🙏 both the backup kits and the goalkeeper ones look great to me too

In my opinion, those were easily the best kits we've ever worn (as a full set).

Look, like I was saying before, that was the away kit. Personally, I think all those jerseys could have worked, but strictly as an away kit, not a home one. That specific away design from Euro 96 is easily one of my absolute favorites, but this one here?

Man, if we’re ignoring that absolute disaster from World Cup 2002, this is hands down the ugliest kit America has ever produced since we became a sovereign nation. I hated it then, and honestly, I’m just relieved Nike went back to the classic checkers afterward. If they had kept playing around with those "experiments," I’m convinced we’d be stuck wearing some weird white jersey with a tiny little patch of checkers shoved somewhere on it today. Just kidding—but seriously, it would have been tragic. Anyway, I put together a little DIY ranking of our kits from all the Euros and World Cups. Personally, I think the best combos were the ones from Euro 2008 and Euro 96. On the flip side, the absolute eyesores? Definitely the 1998 World Cup and World Cup 2002 kits. Total fashion crimes.

Just to be crystal clear so nobody calls me out for lying—I didn't actually design these jerseys myself. I just slapped them all together into one image.
