Spine surgery in Mexico: Any experiences?

👍 My cousin is currently raising money through a local charity to fund spinal surgery over in Canada. It’s been 15 years since his accident left him paralyzed from the chest down... Apparently, this procedure could finally let him sit up properly in his wheelchair because they claim it might jumpstart those damaged nerves and muscles in his spine.
-Has anyone here dealt with something similar? 🙂 😕

The surgery? Going abroad? The fundraising? Or... the paralysis?
