Surgery or not?

I just went in for a sinus scan, and my doctor pointed out some clear signs of frontal sinusitis—basically, a slight nasal septum deviation with a central spur and some thickened lining...🙄
He actually suggested surgery... honestly, I panicked. I was looking for any other way out, so he prescribed some nasal drops instead—but they haven't exactly been a miracle cure...
I deal with brutal migraines, and my sinuses are always the culprit...
Knock on wood, the migraines have calmed down a bit lately, but when they hit—unknown 🤣
I'm wondering if anyone here has gone through sinus surgery?
Where would you recommend going for it?
Is the recovery painful?
And does it actually make a difference in the long run?😕😕😕

Look, I don't want to scare you, but I honestly don't think surgery is going to be your fix. I dealt with debilitating headaches that even painkiller injections couldn't touch. I ended up having surgery on my sinuses, my septum, and a rhinoplasty at the Mayo Clinic
because I'd broken my nose back when I was a kid. Even after that, the headaches persisted and breathing through my nose was still a struggle. It turns out the real cause of my head pain was an issue with a narrowed artery in my neck that wasn't getting enough blood flow to my brain. My left forehead, eye, teeth, and nose would always ache. The surgery itself was quite intense, though maybe yours won't be. I fought those headaches for 20 years, and now that I'm on Betaserc, I can tell you the pain doesn't strike nearly as often. They did the procedure under local anesthesia, so you're awake for everything—you see, hear, and feel it all, just without the actual pain. The soreness comes later. My advice? Get checked out regarding your neck first, and then you'll know if the sinuses are truly the problem. Take care.

I’ve already had three EEGs done—everything seems fine on paper... but if I actually had what you mentioned, those issues with my neck arteries...
What exactly is that medication for? How often do people take it, and is it prescription-only or can you just pick it up at a CVS...
The doctor I saw for my migraines kept pushing that awful Zomig on me... honestly, it was a nightmare. I actually feel much better without it.

You really need to get a Doppler ultrasound of your carotid and vertebral arteries. I went through the Mayo Clinic over at 106 Voćarski St, Los Angeles, using a referral from my insurance, and I didn't have to wait forever. Honestly, I don't even remember half the stuff my neurologist used to prescribe. Any time I read that something was for epilepsy, I wouldn't touch it because I felt like taking those meds could actually trigger seizures. Also, you absolutely cannot take Immigrant and Merck together; one is meant to dilate your vessels while the other constricts them. My neurologist at the Mayo Clinic prescribed the Merck, and even though I pay $32 for it, it's not even the main reason I feel better. At one point, I was going in once a week for injections of GSK, Pfizer, and when the doctor added a Dexamethasone shot into the mix, the pain finally started to back off. Now, I feel as good as I did before this all started. It was brutal. I ended up with deep lines on my forehead from how hard I was clenching, and there were times I’d just break down crying—my mom would cry right along with me because she felt so helpless watching me suffer.
