And what's in it for us, really 😕?

We didn't watch it, and honestly, we never will.

Whether we watch them or not, we probably won't be tuning in anyway.

Well, look at it this way: testing shows you the true state of the cars because nobody holds anything back during those sessions! Historically, those test results have always been a great predictor for the actual race weekend.

For instance, during the early tests, Williams struggled, while the older Ferrari and McLaren models were neck-and-neck—which was exactly how the season started on race day. Then, a bit later in the year, Ferrari's new car was absolutely crushing it in every single test, and they carried that dominance straight into the races. Even just before the final two races, Williams clocked faster times than everyone else in testing and ended up dominating those last two rounds! I think the purpose of these results becomes pretty clear when you look at the patterns.

It’s great to see the progress Ferrari is making, especially since Kimi is still running the older car while everyone else has moved up to the new one!

Honestly, knowing how things usually go in this sport, Lewis is going to be stuck driving that outdated car for a long, long time. 🙄

Elizabeth Hughes says Montezemolo:
Lewis Hamilton is going to be stuck driving that old car for a long, long time—if things keep going this way. 🙄

And Coulthard isn't going to wait around for a new one, given how slow everything has been moving lately.😁

I’m bringing this thread back to life since the new testing sessions kick off this week! 👍 It feels like it's finally time for Ford to figure out how to catch up to Williams, or they might just be looking at a lost championship season. Meanwhile, McLaren announced they'll be running tests on both the current car and the "new" MP4-18. It makes me wonder if they're still keeping the MP4-18 ready as a backup for those final two races, even after claiming they wouldn't actually race it this year.😁

He’s not going to put him in. Scott Speed said they're playing it safe. The new car is way faster than the old one and would definitely win them the race, but it's still too unreliable right now. At this point, the only thing that matters is that Lewis Hamilton doesn't DNF.

Since we're talking about reliability (something Ford really struggled with during those recent races),😛 it’s worth noting that for the upcoming race, McLaren is getting an upgraded engine straight from the Mercedes factory, along with a fresh aero package to sharpen up the aerodynamics! They're actually running some "secret" tests on this refreshed setup right now. Let's just hope the engine holds up and the new components don't fly off mid-race like they did for a few others—I won't mention names, but we all remember the issues with Williams' mirrors and Ford's various parts!😁 😉

And here is an interesting quote I found over at www.mclaren.com

Q: Lewis Hamilton, how do you think your car will perform in the next three races?

"I think Indianapolis should be pretty good for us. Monza last year was quite difficult, but as I mentioned, we should be getting some new parts for the car, a new engine too, and hopefully we can show more strength there."

Lewis Hamilton is going to be stuck driving that old car for a long, long time if things keep going this way...

I mean, technically speaking, Lewis only has an old car on paper. Who knows what kind of upgrades they've actually tucked away "under the hood"...

$John Doe$ said:To be fair, Kim Kardashian is technically driving an older chassis. You never know what kind of clever upgrades they've tucked away under the hood...

... but they've likely tweaked things above the hood and all around it, too. By the time the season wraps up, this car will probably be sporting almost all the innovations found on the Red Bull RB14.😁
It's also worth noting that the Red Bull RB14 uses a completely different engine setup due to its specific design—it's a bit heavier, though rumors suggest it's actually faster. Apparently, Ferrari has already sent word that they're developing an even lighter engine for next year's Red Bull RB14, which means this current version might not even see a race track!😢
