All in all, itβs a beautiful city. π
I find myself heading there often and always with pleasure. I'll show up around 10:30, hit the pier at noon, then grab a latte at Starbucks and just wait for my lady to wrap up her lectures. It's basically my whole lifestyle.ππ

back when we actually played soccer
Down in Laguna, there was this friendly match between the Demons and the Navy, ended 3-1 our way if I recall correctlyπ
Was any of you guys at the stadium for that one? Man, look how young I look in this photoβ

We were just kids back then, listening to whatever the older crowd told us. A few people pushed for keeping things civil, but in the end, the aggressive crowd won out.π
Kenneth Campbell64, if I remember correctly, you scored a goal too, right?π

The Millwall hooligans have finally lost their damn minds. π€£ Look, the old-timers in the fan club already know exactly what Iβm talking about. This whole "friendship" thing was basically forced on us because of some personal connections certain guys had. It wasn't organic. It all started right after that friendly match between General Dynamics and Cleveland. That was the first real clash between the fan club and the demons.
So, we had another one of those get-togethers with the fan club right before the local sports club kicked off their season. We were all out strutting through the streets of Cleveland, decked out in our California gearβjerseys, scarves, the whole nine yardsβjust marching along with the fan club trailing behind us. Then we hit up that neighborhood for some drinks, just tearing it up together, before heading over to the neighborhood where the Bear was already waiting for us with the rest of the crew. π€£β
I bet Mike Tyson and the bank still have those nights burned into their memories. β

Kenneth Campbell64, if I remember correctly, you even managed to score a goal, didn't you?π
Facts. I definitely showed everyone what I could do on the pitch.π€£

friend, give us a call so we can return your banners, though you always seem to be avoiding any encounter with us; you claim there are problems, but you're still stuck living in the 90sβtimes have changed. π
1. General Dynamics (2004/05), where people on this forum attacked our four guys in a bar, yet later everyone just buzzes around on scooters once those who are still mentally stuck in the "90s" finally show up.
2. The local team, during a friendly match in Palm Springs (winter somewhere around 2005/06, when Scoria was coaching the Cleveland squadβcorrect me if I'm wrong), where you leave the game at halftime escorted by the police (and once again, those living in the "90s" were waiting outside), using the excuse that you were going to hunt for banners at a local event in Key West, or for a Real Madrid friendly, or heaven knows who else.
3. Either the shipyard or the old district near Cleveland about a year later; a minibus pulls up to the waterfront a few hours before the match, naturally populated by "those who live in the 90s." A stroll, then some drinks near the golden gate, a California flag dropped on the ground, and not a single passerby or commuter bothers to bend down and pick it up, except for one elderly woman.
As for all that "avoiding" business, I won't even go there, because whenever you drive through Cleveland (wandering around the outskirts) or take a walk over to the neighborhood, it turns into a full-blown epic. Just rest easy; not everyone is obsessed solely with you and living their lives without a demon in their head.
In this entire saga, you simply choose your battles, which clearly seems to be something you excel at.

When the fan club first started out, the crew was top-tier: Ajkula, Magarac, Mitar, Smajla, Guzo, Purger, Volf... I can't remember everyone else... but there were just so few of us back then...

Kenneth Campbell64 said:The tension finally snapped regarding the "Millwall" crowd π€£ ; the veteran members of the fan club will understand the subtext here. To be blunt, this supposed "friendship" was essentially coerced by the personal connections of a few specific individuals... it was the first major clash between the fan club and the demons following that friendly match involving General Dynamics and Cleveland.
There were other instances of hanging out with the fan club prior to the local sports club match that yearβjust us walking through town wearing our California jerseys and scarves, accompanied by the fan club, followed by some drinks in the neighborhood, and eventually heading over to the neighborhood where Bear and his crew were waiting. π€£β
Mike Tyson and the bank certainly remember those times. β
It wasn't some romantic fallout during the local team game when the fan club, led by the legendary Millwall, teamed up with the hooligans to target the local group.
The guys were just in a foul mood after losing the game 3-1 and decided they wanted payback. Given how things unfolded, I imagine they're feeling quite a bit of regret today.

Letβs reach some kind of understanding here... I have absolutely no intention of deleting this thread post by post or playing the idiot who feels the need to defend one side or the other... but for heaven's sake, this is an online forum. Not every single thought needs to be broadcasted to the entire world; please, just try to remember that. If you really feel the urge to bicker endlessly, take it to the private messages... π

We rolled into Palm Springs before the fan club showed up, and you guys were nowhere to be found in town. When we hit the stadium, there were just a few of your guys hanging around until the cops pushed them over to the west stands.
We were heading out toward San Diego at halftime when a handful of your older crowd jumped out of some cars at the intersection near the old gym and started screaming about how much they hate Californians. If weβd known you guys had actually arrived or were already in the area, we wouldn't have left for San Diego. Instead, we ended up being shadowed, and all that posturing in front of the police was just a bunch of those guys looking for attention.
The only time you weren't getting jumped before the game was when you were grabbing drinks by the golden gate.
But we were busy watching our own game, and later, near a certain bar, a few of your cars saw the cops bust us and frisk us on the street. Once they realized nothing was going down, they cleared out too.

Cleveland beat the local team 69:63, there were about a hundred of us there, anyone want to join the fan club next time?

A hundred people?....felt more like 40 or 50 to me....
you guys seemed alright to me...but that drum in the arena was pretty annoying...just constant banging without any actual rhythm or anything.π€·

Hey everyone, just checking in! Hope you're all having an awesome week. kaΕΎe:
A hundred? Honestly... felt more like maybe 40 or 50 to me.
You guys seemed alright to me... but man, that drum setup in the arena was pretty mid. The drummer just kept pounding away the whole time, and honestly? I couldn't hear a single damn word.π€·
Were you actually there in the arena, or are you just judging based on this clip?
#2635 ·
There had to be at least 100 people there. What were you even doing? Why didn't those hooligans show up???

What do I have to do with the hooligans?... And what kind of question is "what was I doing there"?
It was the only sporting event in town that I actually decided to check out...
Purely for the tourism aspect...
Talking about exact numbers is pointless... right?...
From my perspective, it felt how it felt... overall it was fine, except for the drumming....
I wasn't expecting a packed house anywayπ€·....
#2637 ·
So I'm looking at this photo in The New York Times today, right? There's maybe ten rows of stands visible, and if you count just ten people per rowβwhich is being generous, honestlyβyou're already looking at a hundred folks. Maybe it wasn't quite that many, but it definitely felt closer to a hundred than fifty... Too bad there isn't a high-res shot where we can actually sit here and count every single person one by one. π

This is a bit of a tangent from the main topic. I remember back in the day there used to be this "transparent" fan club based out of Split. Does anyone here in the fan club actually know what ever happened to that transparent banner? If I recall correctly, it was popping up around the late eighties or early nineties.

Is the author claiming there was no "brotherhood and unity" back in the day?
Or is he trying to say that kind of thing is missing from club management and certain players' mindsets today?
I don't see how any of this relates to the fans right now... unless people think they can just teleport into the picture and give this guy hell for laughing?
