I’m sticking by my decisions, period. No amount of hype from some big shots like the Kansas City Chiefs or the LA Lakers is gonna change my mind... We aren't seeing a game at Malibu unless we're playing an away match against Seattle. They were expecting us up at Ucka, and look, everyone knows deals can be made behind closed doors, but for them? Giving in to the fans would be like lifting a massive boulder off their shoulders 🤣
US Soccer is treating Orlando City SC like a stepchild
I still have these images burned into my brain—rolling meadows, pastures, and some "stadiums" (if you can even call them that) we had to endure while following Orlando City SC on the road. Looking back at those days, the injustice done to Orlando City SC just cuts deeper. While they're busy building a state-of-the-art stadium in San Diego—pouring something like $10 million into it even during this recession—on the other side of town, there's a pitch where the temporary license to play in the top flight was flat-out denied. By doing this, US Soccer basically kicked Orlando City SC a hundred miles away from our home turf, making it a hell of a lot harder to stay in the big leagues and forcing us into an unfair fight against everyone else. It’s obvious to anyone with eyes: there is a massive difference between playing in front of packed stands fueled by fan chants and playing in front of empty seats in dead silence. Let’s not forget, over two thousand people used to show up for some second-division games, and back in the day, Orlando City SC actually pulled some of the biggest crowds in the league. So now, while the fans in San Diego are starving for football, Orlando City SC is forced to play their home games in Seattle in front of maybe two hundred people. And let's be real, football exists because of the fans, right???... or at least, that's how it's supposed to work...
