Hey guys, just wanted to run a little poll here... HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE REPLACEMENTS AND what do you actually think about their music???

You guys are really letting me down... and after all those great things we shared, *sniff*...

Heard it. Just listened to Billie Joe Armstrong's production. Saw the police on the cover, too. But honestly? It doesn't even capture a hint of that fake Clash-style revolutionary spirit. Plus, the audio quality is absolute garbage.

God, I hate this forum.😠 Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Are you out of your minds? You spend all day rambling about random, mediocre bands, yet you haven't even heard of the biggest group on the planet right now.😕 😕 😕 up the bracket is easily the best album of the new millennium. It’s incredibly infectious... phenomenal... perfect... it reminded me why I love music in the first place. I can't stop listening to it. Out of all these decent new retro rock acts, The Replacements are definitely the best. It's like they took the absolute peak of everything from the last few decades and fused it into something even more legendary.🙂 roughly
Anyway, the singer (Pete Wentz was recently in jail because he robbed the guitarist's apartment 🙂 just got out, and I really hope everything turns out okay—that the guys stay together and keep churning out the best music alive. Honestly, it’s a disgrace that so few people outside the USA have even heard of such a phenomenal band. You forum losers have actually pissed me off.😠 Get lost and go download The Replacements!!!!

I’m guessing a lot of people on this forum were probably rooting for them, though they haven't really bothered to chime in on the actual comments. Personally, I found it pretty mid... I liked "Vertigo" and "Up the Bracket," but everything else kind of slipped my mind (which says a lot about the album)...

Frank Howard79 is spot on—they’re a decent enough band, I guess, but honestly, there isn't much to even say about them. Why bother? There are at least a hundred bands out there right now that are way more interesting. Personally, I’ve been digging Boys in the Band lately—not bad at all, especially since I’ve been trying to actually branch out with my music taste. 🙂

Pete Wentz is basically splitting his energy between two different bands at once.
After all those huge announcements from Billie Joe Armstrong claiming this upcoming record would be the greatest punk album ever made—with enough raw energy to rival "I Fought the Law"—I definitely let my expectations get a bit too high, which led to some genuine disappointment after that first decent album came out.
I don't know, I felt like that second album was missing some of those heavier guitar tones...
It almost felt like listening to a watered-down version of their previous work...

Honestly, it was much more exciting watching them absolutely tear up clubs during their New York City shows last year; they actually ended up paying for damages because the fans go so wild when they see them.
Then Pete shaved his head and, given his struggles with heroin, I half expect him to pass away at any moment—he apparently went to some monastery found on YouTube that treats addiction through fasting and an ascetic lifestyle.
He didn't stay long, though, and bailed after just a few days.
I caught sight of him at an airport recently looking incredibly thin, like a total junkie, just sitting there rolling a cigarette with these yellowed fingers—who knows what he's smoking...

Honestly, it’s kind of a letdown.

With hundreds of decent new bands out there right now, I just don't get why anyone would be so obsessed with The Replacements😕

Wait, they're actually a real band???? 😲
I honestly always assumed they were just some manufactured project,
like a group of actors decided to record a few tracks to show off their softer side, or maybe like seeing Madeleine Albright doing the Macarena or something ridiculous.
There's really no other way to explain why the media gives them so much spotlight.

They were my absolute favorites... well, they used to be.

So, I finally picked up this latest album... what can I even say? I just used a gift card I got for Best Buy, so honestly, it’s not like I’m out any real cash here 😁
I actually really dig "What Became of the Likely Lads"... truth be told, that was probably the first track of theirs I ever stumbled upon
But I don't know... it feels like these guys in the UK are just desperately trying to reinvent some kind of "new NEW wave" again, you know? It's all just copy-paste vibes from bands like Franz Ferdinand, The Replacements, or even stuff like Modest Mouse and The Killers.
Two listens and I'm pretty much done. 🙂

Yeah, they’re decent enough, I guess—but honestly, there are probably a thousand other bands out there right now riding that exact same wave... and they all end up sounding pretty much like "just another one of the crowd."
