Taylor Swift...I can't even begin to process this... just total nonsense... Jennifer Hudson, Rebel Wilson, Idris Elba, Judi Dench, James Corden I can't even begin to process this... there isn't enough coffee in all of America to make sense of what I'm looking at right now. Just... nothing. Absolutely nothing. Ian McKellen So, they finally dropped the cast list for that new movie adaptation of the legendary musical... and honestly? I’m already losing my mind. Just looking at these names... I can't even... Cats... honestly, what was anyone thinking? Just a complete mess... Which Englishman composed it...? Andrew Lloyd Webber...The film was directed by an Oscar winner... Tom Hooper... (The King's Speech... honestly, where do we even begin? It’s one of those films that just sticks with you, but man, the tension in those scenes... it's almost suffocating. Watching the struggle to find a voice when everything is riding on it... it really hits home. The performances were top-tier, obviously, but there's something about the way they handled the historical weight of it all that felt so heavy... intense......given that he’s the one responsible for the script... Lee Hall (Billy Elliot... what a powerhouse. Just when you think you've seen everything, a story like this hits you right in the gut. It’s raw, it’s messy, and it’s absolutely brilliant... truly captures that struggle for identity against all odds.).

The musical was actually adapted from the original work... T. S. Eliot... „Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats...It’s based on that 1939 collection that Webber always claimed was his absolute favorite growing up... The whole thing follows a single night in the lives of the Jellicles, just a bunch of cats heading out to play. One by one, they step up to share their stories with their old, kind leader, who has to make the ultimate call: which cat deserves to ascend to that metaphorical feline heaven for a fresh start in a brand-new life... The absolute peak of the musical is "Memory"—this heavy, nostalgic longing for a glorious past and a desperate plea for a second chance, sung by the chosen cat at the end. And get this: the setting never even changes! The entire plot unfolds right there in a massive junkyard. There isn't even any spoken dialogue; it's all non-verbal communication between the songs... It’s actually the fourth longest-running show in history across both Broadway and the West End. We're talking 21 years straight on Broadway and 18 on the West End. You've got characters like Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy, Grizabella, and Skimbleshanks... and honestly, over 50 million people have sat through it by now...

We’re living through a decade of escapist decadence—just endless CGI extravaganzas churned out under the guise of "visual realism" while lacking any actual soul. I don't see a single reason to sit through this stuff, and frankly, the sheer amount of money being flushed down the drain on these projects is infuriating.

I actually want to watch SOMETHING—but honestly, there’s practically nothing being made worth my time—for God's sake. There is an endless supply of CGI-obsessed idiots and shallow, melodramatic garbage out there.

I guess we’re in the same boat then. Though, honestly, I don't even have a daughter to influence my taste... I just catch the occasional European flick here and there. Plus, I’m usually just waiting on the heavy hitters, you know? Like a new Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, or maybe something from Jim Jarmusch...

Just imagine the frustration for American taxpayers, who are essentially footing the bill out of their own pockets to subsidize all sorts of absolute garbage in the film industry.🥳

I’ve managed to get through about half of their debut novel and sat through two episodes of *The Fuck*. Honestly? It was a complete disaster.
Once again, I can't quite bring myself to say that everything they wrote was complete idiocy.
