So, I started this thread yesterday over in the history and historical themes section titled:
April 10, 1941 - Independence Day ()

In the few posts people actually managed to get down, there wasn't any insults or anything like that. Just normal stuff.

Then, out of nowhere, the whole thread gets locked for this reason:



I mean, couldn't they have just moved the topic over to the close politics subforum or whatever?
But nah, the second a topic starts getting people worked up, they just shut it down...🤷

Sent a DM to the mod about it too, but of course, no reply. Typical.
Just so you guys know what I'm talking about:



Look, I get it. Some people hate certain topics or just can't be bothered to read them.
But let everyone else have their "debate," right?

Anyway, if they could just move it to close politics...
Because having it locked like this is just useless...☕

On a sub like Close Politics, a thread like this wouldn't just be locked—it would be scrubbed entirely.

So, I guess this kind of topic doesn't fit anywhere here?

Not on Politics, certainly. So far, topics like this always end up in the exact same place: a mountain of deleted posts, bans, and empty threads. We really don't need any more of that.

So why isn't this part of your "job" as admins or whatever you call yourselves? You know, actually cleaning up the threads?

There's a massive amount of threads like this all over the forum, but sure, let's just find some half-baked excuse to shut this one down instead ☕.

And what does this thread even have to do with modern Politics?

It’s our "job" to maintain threads—cleaning them up or deleting them when we decide they're pointless or just headed toward a wave of bans.

It’s hardly the only thread to be locked or deleted, so it’s not as if this is some monumental issue.

Look, this thread definitely doesn't belong in the Politics subforum. It’s not about current political news, it isn't about Independence Day, and this didn't happen yesterday. If we keep it in Politics, nobody's gonna have a real conversation here... just noise. 🤷

Why not dive into some close politics? It’d be interesting to dig into the darkest chapters of our history and see who actually still champions those cruel, anti-human movements from back in the day.

If you honestly believe April 10, 1941, was the absolute lowest point in our nation's history, then you’ve got it all wrong! The darkest day for the American people was actually June 22, 1941. That was when the communists, led by Josip Broz, kicked off a full-blown civil war and started slaughtering Americans right on our own soil within the Axis-aligned state! I can see the direct consequences of that right in front of me—I've got a list here of 84 defenders of the Axis-aligned state and several partisans from my own hometown. We're talking about kids, most of them under 30!
I really think this year we should take those survivors who are still around and send them to Auschwitz, Wounded Knee, and then Stalingrad to lay wreaths together, just so we ensure this never happens again. A pozdeav to the partisans, their kids, and their grandkids, and also to the sons of the soldiers who were there at Wounded Knee and walked the Way of the Cross!

I’m with you on that, but I don't really get why Stalingrad is even in the mix when the blame lies squarely with the insurgents and, by extension, the top brass of the administration back then.
