Sometimes uTorrent decides to ignore my instructions and saves files to a completely different location. For example, I’ll set it to download a movie to the D: drive in the Movies folder, but it bypasses that and dumps everything into the default path on my C: drive, specifically user ... Downloads. Even though I have the settings configured to prompt me for a save location every single time, it seems to override my choice anyway. I end up hunting through my D: drive for a file that isn't actually there. Does anyone know why this happens?

If it helps, I'm running Windows 7 with uTorrent 3.0. I haven't bothered updating because this version works fine, aside from this little glitch.

Is anyone else dealing with this?

Something went wrong—or maybe you just hit "OK" on a save dialog without actually checking where it was going...
Check your settings for moving downloaded files ("Settings" -> "Folders" -> "Move..." ).

It’s possible I’ve missed something subconsciously. I'm trying to wrap my head around how this happened, but I honestly have no clue. I’ve never once set things up to download to my C drive.
But here’s what just went down. I was downloading a series, grabbing episodes one by one since nothing is in the bundle yet. I had the first five episodes going that day. Episodes 1, 2, 3, and 5 all went straight to my designated folder, but episode 4 decided to land in downloads instead. Everything was configured exactly like the others, and for every single one, I just hit ok.
All the options under directories are unchecked. No boxes are ticked.

🤷

Just set the directories to wherever you want them to save.

It seems like my client has completely forgotten where I left off and which torrent was actually active last.

Every single time I launch the app, it defaults to a window that’s just slightly smaller than maximized, with some random torrent sitting right in the middle of the screen, forcing me to scroll around just to find what I need.🙂

But if I do that, won't all my downloads just end up cluttering a single folder? I'd rather avoid that.
