Does anyone have a lead on where I could order a cake like this in New York City? (By "like this," I mean one with those super cute, goofy decorations and colors.)

Anyone??

Honestly, a cake like that isn't even hard to pull off.
Don't let them bleed you dry just because they claim they're "specializing" in this style.

Just dye some Ticonderoga in a few different shades and you're golden.
At the end of the day, it's just a cake.

Joshua Clark said:Some people might actually like fondant (Lord help them), but saying it's better than Marzipan? Not happening.

Besides, Marzipan isn't even a second choice when you're doing specific cake decorations—so if that's your thing, go for it.

Regardless, I don't get why a cake can't be both delicious and beautiful—why do people insist on using that damn fondant when you can make a stunning cake out of either meringue or Marzipan? Everyone will actually eat it if it tastes good.

Plus, you can always use frosting as a final layer (my little secret)—it ends up firm, sweet, and gives you this gorgeous, shiny finish.

But hey, that’s probably only for pastry chefs with nerves of steel.

To be fair, I've had cakes with whipped cream before and it’s actually a great substitute for fondant and stuff. Sure, fondant looks amazing, but the taste usually ruins everything.😢.

Personally, I don't really care how the cake looks (whether the chocolate is just smeared on or perfectly smooth)... as long as it tastes good.🙂

Her designs are honestly stunning!
thanks so much!!
please send over her info in a DM.

Somewhere out there, I caught a glimpse of this massive three-tier cake setup where the wedding party basically lives on every floor.
On the bottom level, they’re just standing around looking at things, then on the middle tier, they’ve got themselves a little bench to sit on, and by the top level, you’ve finally reached the actual bride and groom.
If anyone has actually seen something like this in person, please, do me a favor and 'drop' a photo here.🙂

I guess if I actually went through with that, I’d at least end up with the most beautiful cake in the world, even if it doesn't turn out to be the most delicious one... ☕

My aunt is planning on handling the desserts for the wedding, but I’ve been wondering about those health inspections they run on caterers and photographers. I mean, I get the deal with photographers, but how on earth is my aunt supposed to provide a formal invoice or some kind of official certification regarding food safety?🤷
What is an inspector actually looking for when they show up at a wedding to check out the sweets??

It is quite apparent that this community is filled with an abundance of witty individuals! 🙄
I honestly have no idea where to start with this... your best bet would be to reach out to the local CDC office in your area and just ask them directly! As far as I know, they're the ones who hold all the answers. $50 It’s all about testing the cake! Now, listen... perhaps the smartest move would be to just bring in one single cake—one that’s absolutely loaded with cream, you know, packed with eggs—and then they can issue you a certification that you can actually use at any restaurant! 😉

Our little cake arrived from the local bakery along with a whole spread of pastries. It was a strawberry cake, featuring that light, airy cream you usually find in those fancy little cream puffs. The whole thing was snowy white with this massive strawberry heart sitting right on top. 😍😍 It was a total hit—judging by what the guests were saying, anyway. My husband and I barely even got a bite before it was gone. It vanished in a heartbeat. 😍😍

Isn't that just the best feeling ever?

It’s nothing like most weddings where the plates come out full and leave empty—you end up staring at the bill wondering where all that cash actually went... 🤷

It’s honestly such a great feeling. 😍😍 We actually ordered it in the standard size this week just to give it a fair shake and see how it tastes. 😉

Bill Gates I guess... maybe? Nothing to say here—just waiting for someone to actually say something worth reading.
So, my aunt’s planning to handle the desserts for the wedding—which sounds great, I guess—but what's the deal with all these health inspections for caterers and things like that? And then there's photographers, too... I think I get how that works, but how on earth is my aunt supposed to pull out a formal receipt or some kind of food safety certification? It just seems like a massive headache.🤷
What is the FDA even looking for in the desserts when they show up at a wedding??

I mean, if she hasn't even registered her business—then she’s basically got zero excuses when the IRS comes knocking... I guess.

I actually made this last one for my aunt's 50th—it was just more realistic and bigger, with actual skin tones and tiny little hairs, lol
The one before that—pretty similar—was something my sister whipped up when I visited the office. It had strawberries and cranberries, so there was a red heart inside too. Probably not quite the vibe for a wedding... 🤷

Personally, I think the one that says "Why did we even need this" is the best.
By the way, in California, it’s pretty common to have a big croquembouche as the main wedding cake, while the smaller ones are just set out on the guest tables.
I'm telling you, a croquembouche is the absolute best.
