I was totally on board until I saw how killer a massive wedding cake looks when it’s lit up like that, walking into a dark reception hall
It’s not even about blowing out birthday candles or whatever; it’s just about seeing the damn thing before it disappears in five minutes :rpfl:

Look, for me, a cake is practically sacred. I’ve seen how people do it, but a cake isn't a volcano or a firework display—it's just a cake. It’s fine if there's some lighting around it or a spotlight directed AT it, but when they stick those tacky little sparklers right into the frosting, it just makes my skin crawl.

Look, it’s not even about whether the cake looks good with sparklers or without them—that's purely a matter of taste. Personally, I probably won't go for them either. My point was simply highlighting everything they include in the package, all at a price point that's actually reasonable and affordable for everyone.

After hitting up a few bakeries, I couldn't just leave it alone—so my partner and I drove out to Sacramento to check out that Bond Fund and see what the deal was with their $18/kg pastry prices. I wanted to see if that price tag actually matched the quality...🤷
So, here’s the breakdown...
We picked up a kilogram of pastries and asked the staff (who, I have to say, were incredibly sweet) to put together a wedding sampler mix🤣 for us to try before making a final call.
The pastries look gorgeous—honestly, you just have to taste them. The flavor? Not overly sweet!!! (which is huge for me). They're creamy, and the chocolate in the cocoa ones isn't greasy at all... frankly, we're 100% sold...
Now, about the cakes...
For a crowd of about 100 people, the cake price comes to roughly $250. You can pick a stand that’s already included in the price, and they even throw in the sprayers for free.
To wrap things up, they give you a full printed list of all the cakes and pastries, and the ladies working there will actually walk you through which flavors pair best together and all that good stuff.
Bottom line: if you want to save some cash without sacrificing quality for the big day, head straight to Sacramento!😁

We would definitely consider using them too—we actually ordered about two pounds of their pastries for our wedding days and they were truly delicious 🤣... My only issue is that whenever I try to call them lately, it seems like I've got the wrong number... hey, could you shoot me a DM with the right info? 😍

Finally tracked down the couple for the cake project🙂

So, the cake is gonna be three tiers high, decked out with these natural white and gold roses and a satin ribbon... I mean, just try to picture that in your head and let me know if you think it actually works or if I'm totally losing it..

Sadly, no—or maybe I just missed it.🤷

Tell me what you're looking for. I was actually there myself, so if you need details on the decor or anything else, just ask.

We're stuck on this one😁

Does anyone actually know if this is even doable... and what the inside might look like?
We're expecting about 170 people, plus more cakes and desserts...

Honestly, it’s a piece of cake, baby. 👍
You just need a talented pastry chef. For a cake like this, you don't necessarily need a super dense base—like a Sacher—you just need a solid internal support structure, you know? Something to keep the whole thing from collapsing.
As for those decorations around the edges, that's just chocolate work.
I can't really recommend anyone in New York City who could pull this off—to be honest, I just don't know. Other than me, obviously. 🤣

True, but I'm not sure if that's the standard setup—just sponge cake with different creams or what?
Anyway, I actually need this in Los Angeles...
