Jerry Fisher3, look, the thing is, she isn't necessarily a bad person, but she just doesn't know when to stop sometimes... and honestly, I have zero interest in getting into a fight with her. I'm just sitting here waiting for my husband to actually say something to her, but he just stays quiet...

I mean, just look at me—I ended up in a huge blowout with my own mom yesterday (it was Mother's Day, after all), and I was feeling pretty low because of it. Then, late that night, my husband calls his mother to wish her a happy Mother's Day... and yeah, that was the breaking point that sent me into a total meltdown.

Honestly, my own mom gave me way more grief during my pregnancy than my mother-in-law ever did. 🤷
Both of them are actually wonderful women, so I really don't have much to complain about... it just makes me sad to hear people talking like this. 😢

Hang in there, ladies. 🙂 🙂

Dammit. My mom called me yesterday. And I didn't even wish her a happy Mother's Day. Completely slipped my mind. image

I don't even know what else to say besides that I feel for you. I really hope you and your mom have managed to patch things up in the meantime. 🙂

Yeah, we finally got it sorted out... though I spent the entire day overthinking how to apologize without making it weird...

On another note, there’s this neighbor of mine who has an office right next to mine, and honestly, he’s driving me up the wall. He's just incredibly irritating, and I feel so awkward whenever he's around. He constantly tries to strike up these bizarre, forced conversations with me, and it’s just so grating. It’s one of those situations where you just want to say, "Look, I'm really not in the mood to talk, please just leave me alone."

I feel you 🤦, we were actually at my grandma's for lunch together... though honestly, she didn't even mention it to me either 🥳 🥳 🤣

To stay on topic, though, I was so frustrated with myself last night because I couldn't get my pedicure right. I ended up trimming them way too short—I probably should have just left them alone...

My sister-in-law is driving me absolutely insane—and I mean, truly, deeply, irrationally losing my mind here. Honestly, I’m about two seconds away from just throwing a punch just to get some peace and quiet. 🙂

Mine hasn't stopped getting on my nerves either... I don't even know what to say when she's been against me since day one. We just can't stand each other, period.

And the worst part? She acts like such an angel to everyone else, but deep down, she's a total snake...

I had such an annoying encounter the other day with this nosy neighbor who kept badgering my husband about why we finally decided to take down that tree in our yard. Honestly, who was even bothered by it? My husband tried to explain—quite patiently, I might add—that it wasn't really a nuisance, we just don't eat the fruit and we spent the entire fall just dealing with the constant mess of falling leaves; plus, the tree was leaning right against the side of the house... But no, this guy just wouldn't let it go, constantly questioning why we’d bother removing it. It really got under my skin! I was sitting out in the backyard listening to the whole thing, though he didn't even notice I was there. Eventually, my husband just lost his patience and snapped, telling him that if it bothered my wife, then that was reason enough. I mean, seriously, why do you even care what we do on our own property? If we already gave you an answer once, why do you keep digging?

I can't stand people who just stick their noses where they don't belong. :mrgud: Honestly, if it makes you feel any better, one day or another, they're going to end up face-planting right into someone's dirty backside... and that's the only thing keeping me sane. :lalalalalala:

I have to agree; my sister-in-law drives me absolutely crazy too. When I was pregnant, she was constantly nitpicking my weight, basically implying that because she stays so slim, she's superior. She’d claim she wasn't having kids yet because she was too focused on her career, and then suggest I was foolish for having mine—as if being "smart" meant delaying motherhood. It was honestly nauseating. To everyone else, she plays the perfect angel, but she spent my entire pregnancy telling me how much weight I was putting on. For the record, I think I looked better during that pregnancy than I ever have. Ugh, family, right?

Bus situation today; heading back to my hometown from Washington, D.C.
The driver? God help us, what is wrong with these people. At that stop near the Liszt concert hall, he pulls away without even glancing at the rearview mirror, the doors, nothing—he just leaves. This elderly woman starts yelling at him to stop. The idiot just keeps driving. She tries again, sounding totally panicked. Nothing. A few of us join in, shouting "stop !!!" But no luck.
The woman finally reaches this moron, right on the edge of a breakdown, practically in tears. She’s old, looks so fragile it breaks your heart. And she keeps repeating, "Please stop, my husband couldn't get on, I have to get off, he has Alzheimer's."
And the idiot does NOTHING.
Does this half-wit even know what Alzheimer's is, let alone care?
The poor lady was BEGGING at the next stop, but this absolute jerk wouldn't even give her the decency of a single sentence. It wasn't even rush hour, no traffic, nothing; he could have pulled over for literally three seconds, let her out, and moved on. When he finally did pull up by the Sun clinic, she barely made it out before tripping and falling because she was so shaken up. That stinking piece of trash just shut the doors and kept rolling like nothing happened—typical ZET-style behavior. Honestly, his sheer rudeness and lack of humanity pissed me off so much that I'm calling their damn headquarters right now to find out where I can file a formal complaint against their incompetent staff. I KNOW it’ll probably go nowhere—because when you're dealing with a thieving monopoly like them, who cares?—but I'm at least going to tell them exactly what I think.
Poor old lady... I really hope she found him... 😢

I got so worked up I actually started tearing up.
I'm writing them an email right now. May they all rot.

You should definitely write that email; what an absolute jerk! I mean, how can someone be that inconsiderate?! I really hope he gets a taste of his own medicine!

...poor grandma...I really hope she found her grandpa again and that everything turned out okay...

...honestly, this whole thing just sent my blood pressure through the roof! Back when I was first pregnant, I was absolutely craving sour milk, you know? Like, obsessed. And she used to go out and buy this raw milk from a local farmer and put it in jars to ferment for me...but man, I guess I learned my lesson, because after reading all those scary stories about fake Listeria outbreaks, I totally stopped drinking it. But then, she goes ahead and buys three more gallons and puts them in two big jars anyway! I told her straight up, "Look, I am not touching that anymore, please just leave me alone, I don't need any Listeria in my life..." That was back on Friday...and then she headed off to Canada...and we followed her over the weekend since it was the anniversary of my father-in-law's uncle passing away. Well, today I’m looking at that milk...the cream that had risen to the top has thickened up weirdly, and there are these little spots of red, pink, green, and black...it looks like a freaking rainbow. Translation: bacteria!!! 😲😲 'So there's three gallons of milk sitting there....so I just tossed it...👍 ...and then she calls me up...."Hey, honey, grab that milk from downstairs and use it to make some burek or mashed potatoes!" and I was like, "No way, it went bad, I threw it out..." Oh my god.....she goes, "Why?! Seriously, it doesn't matter if it's spoiled, that's just how it is! You shouldn't have done that, what a waste...!!!" 😱 😠

...yeah, sure, I should have just swallowed it and poisoned myself, my baby, and my husband just so she wouldn't feel like she wasted a few bucks $6.75!!! ...yeah...of course... 🙏🙏 🙄

Look, if your $6.75 goes bad, that's a way bigger deal. Every woman knows that—just ask my mother-in-law. 😳
And it doesn't even mean it's spoiled; even stuff at the grocery store has an expiration date, but that doesn't mean it's actually rotten later on...

I sent an email to the local transit authority. I know it's probably pointless... but I'm still shaking from how pissed off I got...

My mother is exactly the same way... "It's nothing" is practically tattooed on her face when she says stuff like that. For Easter, she made this cake I absolutely love, but she bought the eggs a week early and left them in the pantry instead of the fridge, thinking it was "cool enough." Yeah, right. Outside temperatures were hitting 80 degrees, and I guarantee that pantry was at least 40. 🙄
Naturally, I didn't touch the cake or the eggs.

I emailed them too, and they actually replied. A driver once just let passengers off, slammed the doors, and drove away. We were just standing there at the station like idiots...what a total moron, I have no idea who they hire.

They apologized, said they’d take action, and basically begged me to keep using their service. And 🙂 I think I still have that email buried somewhere...

They’re driving me insane... That’s why they act like such pieces of trash—because they know they have a total monopoly. Fine. If their response is just some canned "we'll notify the people in charge," then I’m writing right back to demand to know exactly what those "people in charge" actually said. Let's see how far they want to take that game...
Absolute scum. They’re either ripping us off with ticket prices, always running late, or they’ve cut down the number of trams and buses so we’re all packed in like cattle. Plus, you have to deal with whatever attitude every single one of their lowlife drivers feels like throwing at you. And they still have the nerve to take holidays, Christmas breaks, Easter breaks, vacation time, and every other excuse under the sun while complaining? Honestly, they deserve to be cleared out, one by one. Starting with their beloved Bloomberg at the top.

A colleague of mine—someone I’ve been grinding with for the last two months on a mountain of paperwork for our department's accreditation—has stomach cancer. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

She’s sticking it out with me until the end of the week before she goes on medical leave for surgery and everything else.

It didn't make me angry or annoyed... it just... hit me hard. 😢 She's my mom's age, so I immediately called my mother to check in and see how she was doing.
