Sean Long4 said:It honestly drives me up the wall when I’m working at the clinic. You get these guys coming in to pick up their lab results, and then the nurse will clearly announce, "Pregnant patients, please head to window three; everyone else, please use window two." Immediately, you’ll have two or three people who suddenly think they’re experts on queue management, stepping right in front of everyone else to cut the line at window three. It's such an unnecessary headache.

It’s the same type of people you see on the subway—those ones who refuse to move an inch even when they see someone struggling with a heavy bag or trying to squeeze through a crowded car. They see you're stuck, they see you can't get past, and yet they won't budge for anything in this world.

Tell me about it! 🙂
They have all day to get wherever they're going—literally ALL day—so they hit the transit during rush hour. Then they show up at the doctor's office in the afternoon, right when everyone else is trying to get there after work.😠

Oh, honey... they truly believe that shifting an inch is more taxing for them than it is for us to squeeze through a tiny gap of free space... 😂
I have to admit, I’ve completely lost my respect for the elderly since becoming pregnant—I am certainly not going out of my way to help them ever again!

Right at the start of my pregnancy, some lady in line one actually grabbed my sleeve to tell me not to cut ahead "because everyone else is waiting." 🙄
And once I told her I was heading to the maternity desk, she actually tried to eyeball my stomach to see if I was telling the truth—though, honestly, I wasn't exactly showing much at six weeks...🙄

Honestly, my in-laws have been driving me absolutely up the wall lately—it’s their senseless divorce, and now they're trying to drag my husband into the middle of it, and apparently, our house is next on their list of things to meddle with.

Whenever I share how excited I am about my new baby girl, I get those condescending comments like, "Well, as long as she’s healthy, right?" 😠 😠
Then there are the unsolicited experts claiming I have to stay in bed, or warning me that if my first pregnancy is rough, I'll never conceive again 😵—just endless nonsense.

Everyone seems to be an expert on everything. They question why I'm buying so much gear, asking what I need all these diapers for, or telling me I can just wait until later 😠 🙂 as if the baby won't outgrow everything instantly. Honestly, if I had listened to them, I would have thought size 56 diapers lasted until a toddler was three years old 🙄. Following their logic, I should probably just wait for someone to gift me everything so the kid can grow up naked and barefoot, being bathed in a kitchen sink and wearing dish towels instead of diapers. 🙄

And then there's this one person who keeps coming over and saying, "Oh, I forgot to bring my nursing pillow! It's such a lifesaver, you just need to buy more refill beads" 😵 because it's deflated—which she's said three times now. Personally, I'd be too embarrassed to admit I forgot something that often. This same person, who thinks she's such a pro, actually tried to give me her old maternity dress that she wore during her pregnancy. She hadn't even washed it since; it's been sitting in her closet for seven months, yet she acts like it's "fresh." It smelled so bad I wouldn't touch it even if I were standing there naked.

It drives me absolutely insane that the dermatologist didn't just tell my husband he needs to get that mole removed IMMEDIATELY. Instead, the doctor—probably just trying to keep him calm—said it wasn't urgent and could wait until after summer.
For God's sake, I'm going to die of anxiety waiting for that. 😢😢😢😢😢 We're heading out on vacation in September; he’s going to some chess tournament, and before you know it, I'll be heading into postpartum... he won't get it checked until he grows a melanoma the size of Texas. How am I supposed to pressure him to go now? I tried explaining how much this stresses me out and how it isn't good for the baby—didn't work. I told him I love him and want him around forever so I don't have to deal with being a widow before my time—didn't work. So what now? Should I tell him we're taking out a mortgage and the monthly payments will be $2000 and that if he kicks the bucket, the baby and I will end up on the streets because I can't handle it alone? 😠😠😠😠

It feels like they’ve been dancing around the idea of divorce several times throughout their lives, but now—it seems like things have actually reached a breaking point. Honestly, though, what really gets under my skin is how she keeps dragging my husband into the middle of all this drama, which just ends up triggering a whole new set of complications... And then there's my mother-in-law—she just won't stop spreading rumors and trying to fill our heads with all this nonsense. We've already made it clear to her that we aren't interested in hearing any of it, but she just keeps doing the exact same thing over and over again.

"Are you prepping your nipples for breastfeeding?"
-"No, I read that it's actually useless nonsense"
"But I was covered in sores! You have to scrub them with a towel!!!"
-"I won't... That isn't recommended anymore. Thanks for the advice, though.."
"Fine, maybe I am old-fashioned, but I'm just trying to help you. Everything has changed lately, but my intentions are good, you know? Don't take this the wrong way, I only want the best for you. Whatever, I just hope you don't end up having bad luck like I did with those wounds... I was just thinking of your own good, okay?"
-"Right, thanks.."
"Am I really that old-fashioned? Honestly, you modern moms have the internet and everything at your fingertips, but you can't believe everything you read. You say you won't give the baby chocolate, but just wait until they ask—you'll see how hard it is to say no then. It's easy for you to talk now, but I'm telling you this for your own sake so you don't make decisions too early. Not everything on the internet is accurate, you know..."
-"Thanks for your opinion, but I'm sticking to my guns: a six-month-old doesn't need bananas or chocolate.."
"BUT I'M TELLING YOU FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.........."

God, these conversations are so exhausting... Am I just being overly sensitive? 🤔

Mom? Mother-in-law? 🤷
They’re enough to drive you INSANE.
Just thinking about their "logic"—how they're always right and how my kids are somehow lacking something—is already making my skin crawl. Honestly, I can already see it now... just endless, circular arguments that go nowhere. 🤦

Yeah, you totally are. 😉
Just roll your eyes and be like "sure, whatever" and then top it off by saying you're gonna put your kids to sleep with moonshine and poppy seed tea.
That's exactly how our grandmas and great-grandmas used to handle their kids back in the day 🙏

Honestly, my only fear is they'll start handing out those bananas or chocolate bars themselves, and then someone's gonna find a reason to say I bit them...

Ugh, oh man, I have been exactly where you are...
I once watched a grandmother try to give her three-month-old grandson ice cream, a banana, a Milk Snatch, and even a chunk of meat to suck on...😲😠 😲😠I swear, I nearly lost my mind when I saw that; I just turned around and walked straight out of the room...

I told my mom right away that once we get home, we’re sitting down for a very serious sit-down about how MY baby is going to eat and what they are allowed to drink. And I made it clear she shouldn't even bother coming over unless things with my mother-in-law are perfectly smooth, because honestly, it's better to have her here than dealing with the MIL. I know, I know, I can be a total dragon when it comes to my mom and my in-laws, but I mean it!😍😍

Lately, I've been hearing it from both sides—they’re all insisting I need some fancy baby carrier just to get the little one out of the hospital. Their logic? "Oh, we all carried you in carriers and look how fine you turned out!" Like, seriously? I've told them a hundred times—no, we're using the car seat. But nope, Mom’s back at it with her nonsense: "But I saw such a cute little Moses basket!". 😁😁

I’m not even scared, honestly. Let them try. I already know exactly where those snacks are gonna end up.
and knowing you, I bet even your own crew knows better than to mess with your stash! 🤣

That is pretty much exactly how my mother has been acting lately...
And normally, he’s actually a pretty great guy. ☕

Mine has always been that way—I know she doesn't mean any harm, truly, but the constant repetition just wears you down until you're completely exhausted...

Alexander Jackson142 said:or maybe it's my mother-in-law 🤣
ever since I first found out I was pregnant, she's been telling me to massage my nipples—claiming she had terrible pain with her first baby, but with the second one, she did this from the start and everything was fine...
she even told my husband I had to do it 😂I can't even begin to describe the look on his face😂

Hehe... unfortunately, my mother-in-law has already passed away... she was actually wonderful and we got along so well, but still...

@Austin Ramirez3, I hope you're right... but man, even thinking about it irritates me. It's that constant friction because everyone around us has to be the smartest person in the room.
And they think they’re at their best when you tell them their way isn't working—then they just shut down, act insulted, and give you that pathetic "Well, everything has changed..." routine.
Yeah, NO DUH it changed. Thanks to everything, things actually *did* change; honestly, it would be easier if nothing ever shifted and we just stopped making progress altogether! 🙄

I’ll admit, I’m just as terrified as you are... especially when it comes to my own family. It’s like this constant cycle with them. Every single time they visit, they show up clutching boxes of chocolates. I swear, I tell them, "Hey, seriously, could you just grab some fresh fruit instead? Why is it always sweets?" But does anyone listen? Not a chance. They just keep doing it. And honestly, it makes me worry about what’s going to happen once the baby arrives! I can already see it now—they’ll probably try to force-feed the poor thing nothing but chocolate and processed sausages! It’s actually infuriating because they act all high and mighty about my brother, judging him just because we didn't start giving his kid chocolate before he even hit his first birthday! I feel like I’m going to lose my mind dealing with them. To them, everything is perfectly fine. In their heads, babies should just eat everything in sight. Forget about nutrition or milk—as long as there's chocolate on the table, they think life is good.

I always tell people the same thing when they start complaining about how much things have changed: it’s like how we used to scrub laundry by hand and now we just toss it in a Maytag washer, or how we used to sit around waiting for news and now we’re glued to the TV or scrolling through our phones.
Nobody is out there cruising around in an old Ford Model T or a beat-up Chevy anymore, so honestly................

Personally, I need to buy an infant car seat, but she keeps dodging it because "you already have the bassinet," as if we don't immediately need 🙂

I recently told her that if I have to scramble to buy a car seat just a week before my due date, she won't even see her grandchild until their first birthday 🙂—she claims she's going tomorrow 🤣

+ and to top it all off, my coworkers at the office told me they all used those little bassinets 🙂 and questioned why I'm stressing about car safety when we live only two blocks from the hospital 🙂

My patience is wearing thin 🙂

brightridge19, you should also tell those geniuses that the fine is $167 if you aren't using a proper car seat for your kid. Maybe they actually care about "love" or whatever—since clearly safety isn't on their radar. People seriously underestimate how chaotic driving is these days. 🥳
