Michael Martin4 said:Yesterday I was out grabbing coffee with a friend who has two kids, and this guy actually tried to force me into the backseat because apparently pregnant women in their third trimester aren't allowed to wear seatbelts. Honestly, I was just annoyed, so I sat in the back anyway and buckled up. ☕
I’m still driving, obviously, and buckling up feels totally normal to me—the belt just sits low across my belly and between my breasts. But driving without a seatbelt? That feels 😲!!

Also, people constanty get on my case about our stroller. We bought the Chicco umbrella stroller with the zero position option, but without the bassinet attachment. Now, the local busybodies are acting all shocked and asking if I’ve lost my mind for wanting to push the baby in just the stroller.

Oh, and I swung by work the other day for my usual paycheck, and some coworkers—they’re like 50 or 55—started judging me. They were questioning why I wear tight clothes when they all used to wear baggy stuff, even checking my shirt to see if it was stretchy enough or if it would squeeze the baby 🙄 while simultaneously preaching that you should just hold the baby in your lap instead of using a car seat 🙂

I mean, look, that’s just how people drove before car seats were even a thing. What does a 60-year-old woman know about modern safety? Honestly, I won't even get into the nightmare of how my own family drove me home from the hospital. 🤦 🤣

So, what can I even say? My old man—he's a retired cop—is constantly going on about how people today overreact to everything regarding AS. He’s always bringing up how he used to drive me and my sister back and forth from DBK to NYC all the time when we were kids back when we lived in DBK, just cruising in an old Yugo, and everything was perfectly fine. 🙄 I mean, why should I be surprised by the gripes at work then?

I guess his own dad used to haul him around in the back of a pickup truck. ☕

I was chauffeured in there sitting right up front in the passenger seat 🥳

So don't even try to lecture me, because I've already been through the wringer 🙂 🤣

😂 caught her right from the start 😉

I know this is totally off-topic, but my grandma was telling me how back when she was pregnant, they used to haul her straight from the farm on some old moped to the hospital in NYC (like 31 miles). Then my grandpa would show up to pick her and my mom up from the hospital on a bicycle—thank God he just dropped them off at the bus station 😁

I always buckle up. Not just because the car chirps at me until I do, but because my brother was in a wreck seven years ago, and thank God he was belted 🙏 🙂

Well, a lady finally gave me some props yesterday. At last, I’ve actually got a belly big enough to notice! 🎉

The further along I get with this pregnancy, the less everything gets under my skin. I don't even mind when people reach out to touch the bump anymore. Honestly, what really bugs me now are the folks who try to feel for a kick, and then act disappointed if they don't feel anything right away. Look, this isn't some little monkey performing on command just to please them—this is my son, and he's already showing his own personality. 😍

I’m just waiting for someone to take a shot at my gut. The second they try, I’m heading straight for the bathroom or hitting the nearest bar. If they want a fight, they’ll get one.☕

And as for mm, I told him to move. By the time he actually drags himself over, the moment's gone. I just sat there and held his hand. He doesn't have telepathy; he can't just sense that I'm waiting for him to step up.🙄

Honestly, the thing that caught me off guard is how incredibly anxious I’ve been since becoming pregnant. I get these sudden outbursts of rage at times when I really shouldn't, and everyone around me is just getting on my nerves—I can't stand anyone right now. I guess my hormones are just running wild. 🙄 It’s pretty awful, but I can’t seem to settle down or get my head back into that "normal" headspace I had before all this started. 🙂

Mine too.
Just put your hand on him for a few seconds and he pulls away.
Then he starts acting all dramatic about how the little girl doesn't love him and how she won't even come visit him later.🙄

What surprised me most is how easy this pregnancy actually is. All those old ladies and neighbors predicted I'd be struggling, but it’s been surprisingly smooth. I do get some weird looks when I'm out walking, though. Not sure why being pregnant is such a spectacle—maybe it's because I look way too young for it. People probably think I'm fifteen.

One acquaintance’s reaction really caught me off guard. She goes, "I had no idea you got married. Is it someone else? Because your husband looked like he was terrified of the idea of marriage." 😲 I just stood there. She didn't even seem embarrassed to say it, and then she added that he'll finally grow up now that the baby is coming.

😲😲😲 Man, I feel like I could tell that acquaintance of yours exactly what she needs to hear... maybe.

Sure, come on over 😁 I just got up and told her she can deal with her own mess; I'm done wasting my energy on idiots.

It’s not a huge deal, but my dad and brothers are starting to get on my nerves—they think they’re being helpful, but they basically assume I don't need to lift a finger. Every time I head over to their place and try to actually pitch in, they just shout at me to sit down because they've got it covered...
Well, once the kid is born and someone inevitably has an accident, I’ll be more than happy to let them handle the diaper changes. 😁

I finally need to vent because I am seriously reaching my breaking point 😳

Every single time she sees me, she goes straight for my stomach to give me a kiss—thankfully she doesn't see me that often—but it’s honestly exhausting. She just lunges at me and leaves lipstick stains all over my shirt 😕 since she's about a head and a half shorter than me and aims right for my belly. Then she starts shouting, "That's my grandbaby! That's my grandbaby!!!!"

Or even worse, I'll be standing there and she’ll sneak up behind me for a hug. Nobody else does this to me, so I don't think she should either. I don't have the guts to tell her I really don't like it, and she's not doing herself any favors by being like this; she's just making things awkward for my partner.

Yesterday, she started lecturing us about what names she thinks we should pick, and how she wants to go shopping to buy the baby's going-home outfit—she's basically the type of person who thinks she knows everything about everything. Even so, after everything we've been through, I feel like it's perfectly fine for my partner and me to choose the name and the clothes for bringing the baby home from the hospital. It makes me really sad that she's acting this way. I know she's just excited, and I'm trying to be respectful, but she 🙄

I politely informed her that I wasn't particularly fond of being patted on the stomach. Since then, we’ve crossed paths a few times and she hasn't touched me once. As for the baby clothes, I told her quite clearly that you two should make those choices yourselves—you’ve already raised your own children, and after everything you've been through, you've earned this first one.

It drives me crazy when my mother starts making comments about going to the hospital alone or doing 3D ultrasounds. I try to brush it off, but it honestly leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. If she wants to celebrate all that and force it on her daughter one day, fine, but I don't need any part of it. I am not some overly sentimental person, and the whole display is incredibly irritating. Besides, I know most of it is just pure performance. 🙄
