I second everything said above.
It feels like everyone is just relieved that I’m finally going to "experience what it's actually like to have a kid," as if my life won't be as good as it is now—back when we were just a duo and could do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted.

"Get some sleep now, because once the baby arrives..."
Then friends show up at the house and immediately follow it up with comments like, "Go wild while you can, because once the baby comes, those days are over."
"Boys are much more demanding, you better get ready..."

Oh, really? What, are my friends not allowed to visit anymore? Am I supposed to just hit a button every time I'm tired to access all the sleep I "stored up" during pregnancy? Are we suddenly incapable of doing what we want ever again? 🙂

If life is supposedly getting ruined, why does anyone bother having kids in the first place? 🙂Why do people even do it if it makes life so miserable?

That’s the one thing that gets under my skin. It’s rare for any parent to say anything positive to me. Honestly, it feels like they’re just jealous of the lifestyle we have right now and are dying to see me start complaining about how a baby messed up all our plans.

It’s nonsense. I know things will change. I'm not naive about what caring for an infant entails, but I know life will be better because there will be three of us. Despite the lack of sleep and the chaos, we’ll be happy. No one is going to convince me otherwise. 😍

Yeah...

But honestly? What gets to me most is the sheer frustration—it's driving me insane. I am constantly terrified. It feels like my pregnancy burned out some vital part of my brain, and now I'm stuck in a loop of endless anxiety about everything. Every single time I don't feel the little one move for a bit, every trip to the bathroom where I'm checking for weird discharge, every doctor's appointment, every blood test, urine sample, or swab—waiting for results, checking my blood pressure, stepping on the scale, cervical measurements... then there's the actual birth. And don't even get me started on whether I'll actually know how to keep a human alive after the delivery. There's just so much that my brain is basically boiling every single day.

I'm usually a pretty chill person.😁

Nancy Ruiz7 said:Let’s be clear here—I’m not trying to compare kids to pets, because I know how much that can rub people the wrong way, but rather the general mindset surrounding it. Since my career revolves around working with children, I’m constantly surrounded by them, so I’ve always found the whole energy quite uplifting instead of overwhelming. Honestly, things like sleep deprivation don't even phase me... what actually keeps me up at night is the uncertainty of pregnancy itself and the potential outcomes, rather than the actual arrival of the baby. We'll adapt to whatever the little one needs when the time comes, though I am certainly going to try my best to hold onto my usual hobbies and daily routines as much as possible. And despite the endless stream of "well-meaning" advice flying our way from every direction, we are still the ones calling the shots on how we want to do this...

Honestly? Sometimes I feel like raising my pets was more traumatic than having my own kid. At least with a kid, you can just put them in diapers. Puppies and kittens don't come with those kinds of messes... 🤣

Today was a total nightmare trying to deal with hair removal. Specifically, trying to tackle my bikini area and thighs without an extra mirror. 🙂

And don't even get me started on trimming my toenails. Nail polish? What even is that? And please, don't suggest a pedicure. I am morbidly ticklish. Nobody is allowed to go near my feet, let alone touch them. I’d probably need to be wasted just to survive someone touching my feet. And that’s not happening right now...

It honestly bugs me whenever people suggest I should just "get rid of" my cats.
So annoying.

Heh, it honestly gets under my skin when people start using phrases like "you should just get rid of it," or "how are you even going to manage with a kid?" or those classic warnings like "once the baby arrives, your life is basically over" or "you won't be able to do any of your usual things anymore"... 🙂

I was actually going to sit here and quote a few of these last comments, but honestly? I just don't have the energy for it... all I’ve got to say is 🙏 🙏

Why is it that every time I post a negative thought about being pregnant, people jump down my throat and call me horrible or disgusting?
Sure, bringing a new life into this world is a miracle, but am I really not allowed to complain when my heart is racing, I’m constantly nauseous, or I'm craving ice cream only to feel sick immediately after eating it? Apparently, if I'm not absolutely loving every second of this, I'm just being ungrateful, right?
Honestly, if I felt this way without being pregnant, I’d be at the ER demanding a checkup and asking them to keep me overnight until my hormones settled down. But because I'm expecting, I'm just supposed to grit my teeth and deal with it because "all women go through this" and we're all just naturally brave martyrs by design.🙄
It’s so frustrating because everyone around me seems to be in a state of pure euphoria, while I’m actually terrified and spiraling about whether I can even survive labor. Every time I try to express my anxiety, the responses are always the same: "Don't get stressed, the baby will feel it," "It'll be fine" (my absolute favorite), or people starting to throw religious platitudes at me. What, am I expecting a guardian angel or the Virgin Mary to step in and give birth for me instead?🙄

I’m certainly not feeling any sense of euphoria myself after dealing with two miscarriages... I am trying my best to stay level-headed, which is why I try not to make every single conversation revolve around pregnancy, even though part of me wishes it were different. Unless I hit that twenty-four-week mark—not to mention that getting pregnant wasn't even my immediate priority since I had a million other life goals lined up—it’s just hard to put into words for anyone who hasn't walked this path. It isn't the actual delivery that scares me, but rather those nine long, grueling months... And honestly, I don't envy those who actually get to enjoy the "glow," because I still feel terrible most of the time, and I truly believe we have every right to be a little negative or sarcastic about it all. People can tell whatever story they want...

It's exactly because of comments like that—and others just like them—that I ended up getting into a massive blowout with my mom yesterday over one of those incredibly stupid questions: can you even imagine what giving birth is going to be like?!?!? And then, of course, follows the inevitable, "Oh honey, you have no idea what's coming for you..."
I lose my mind every single time this starts. No, I can't "imagine" it because I haven't done it yet... okay, yeah, I'm sure it hurts (who wouldn't?!), but millions of women have already gone through this and survived. What's the deal with women acting like it's some huge drama when they're literally just repeating a biological process?
Anyway, I'm pissed off all over again just typing this...

I’m also being extremely cautious during this pregnancy because of what happened in the past, and honestly, I definitely don't feel "glowing" yet.
For the first month, I was constantly sick, and then for nearly three months straight, I dealt with these absolutely horrific pains in my lower back and legs (it was basically impossible to do anything—sitting, sleeping, walking—nothing was easy). Now, I just feel clumsy and perpetually exhausted. My doctor mentioned yesterday that I’m dealing with anemia too... so yeah, I’m still just sitting here waiting for that period where I’m supposed to finally start "shining."🤣

Some moms are really getting on my nerves lately. They act totally disgusted because I want to know the baby's gender. They always drop that same condescending line about how "it should only matter if the baby is healthy and growing, not whether it’s a boy or a girl." 🤮
It’s like they think I don't care if the baby is healthy just because I'm curious about the sex...
Look, dummy, the gender isn't even the point. It's pure curiosity. Whether it's a boy or a girl honestly doesn't matter to me. We'll be happy regardless of what it is!

And don't even get me started on my mother-in-law. She thinks since I'm pregnant, I'm basically stuck at home 24/7. She treats my house like it's her own, just barging in whenever she feels like it, walking into my rooms without knocking, and acting like there are zero boundaries. 🤮

I am still dealing with the constant irritation of wet underwear and the incessant need to urinate. 😠 It isn't as if I can simply change them whenever I please, given how much leaking occurs. On top of that, there is the perspiration, which seems to trigger a never-ending cycle of breakouts across my legs, groin, and everywhere else.😠😠😠

The comments are going to be the death of me—if you keep eating like that, you better watch your step, because
it’s going to be a hell of a lot harder to shed those pounds later on...🙂
Someone please just let me live! 😂

Whenever I see those comments about what I should be eating, I just tell them I’m already on a pregnancy diet🙂
And if people start digging for details—asking things like, "Wait, what kind of diet?" or "Did your doctor actually prescribe that?"—I just give them a straight answer. Honestly, a healthy pregnant woman can eat whatever she wants, as much as she wants, right?🙂

🙂 I'm signing my name to this

I'm seriously losing my mind again because of this friend who isn't even pregnant and doesn't even have kids, yet she’s constantly lecturing me with her "expert" advice on pregnancy and motherhood...
next time 🙂

It’s honestly exhausting how people act like getting a C-section is some mystical, life-changing journey, almost as if they're describing a trip to a luxury spa.
I'm not looking for anyone to lecture me because this is my choice to make, but isn't it concerning how often complications or long-term health issues arise from surgical births? 🙄
Then there are those who claim women who give birth naturally bond better because they "earned" it through struggle. Honestly, I don't know about you, but I'm about two seconds away from losing my cool with people making comments like that. 🤷
