My husband went absolutely ballistic yesterday, and then he did it again today—I honestly can’t even stand to be in the same room as him right now! 😠

He had the nerve to sit there, acting all self-important, telling me that HE won't be having a third kid once I hit 30. 😲😲😲

The thing is, I'm already pregnant with our second baby—I'm 36 weeks along—and I've been in total physical misery for weeks. My back feels like it's literally snapping, walking is a chore, and my hormones are just all over the place... and yet, he has the audacity to give me this ultimatum that I have to have another one within two years of this birth.

I mean, what on earth is going through his head? And the fact that he actually thought he could say that to my face!!!!!! Honestly, it's a good thing I didn't go full crazy and claw his eyes out. 😠🙂:2up:

Michael Barrett11 said:I actually broke down in tears yesterday! 🙂

Look, I’m fully aware of my weight. I know I’ve put on a significant amount—about 42 pounds so far—and I realize it’s probably going to be an uphill battle to lose it all, but honestly, I don't need it shoved in my face every single second. 😠
I was hanging out with my mom and aunt yesterday, and predictably, they started commenting on my weight. To make matters worse, I stupidly mentioned that my doctor expects the baby to be around 6.8 pounds by the end of the term (though I conveniently left out him mentioning that the baby seems a bit small 😢), and naturally, they launched into that whole tired lecture about how pregnant women who gain too much weight end up having smaller babies 😢.

It’s true that I’ve had my moments of weakness where I definitely overindulged in sweets and portions, but the issue is that I haven't been able to stay active to burn any of those calories off
. And why not? Because from the very start of this pregnancy, I've been dealing with constant back pain and hip issues that have made moving around a struggle.
It’s not like I’ve just been lying around, but I haven't been capable of going for long walks. I consider it a major win if I manage to mop the floors in this massive house, only to end up crying in bed at night because my spine is throbbing
.
Then, of course, there's my "wonderful" husband, who decides to call me fat under his breath, and then goes on to tell me how some other pregnant woman in the waiting room at the OB-GYN (who I didn't even see) looked so fit and slim, like she only had a little bump instead of me waddling around like a penguin. And he said all this right in front of my mother.
How am I supposed to be okay with that?!

Honestly, screw them all! :2up:
I know I've gained weight, and that is my business to deal with.
The same goes for whether the baby turns out to be high-strung because apparently, I get "too stressed" during pregnancy. If the kid ends up being difficult, that's on me.
:2up: It's my problem, not theirs. They aren't the ones raising this child, I am!

Oh, honey! 🙂 Seriously, don't cry. Those pounds are just going to vanish like magic once you start moving around again, you'll see. I’m right there in the trenches with you on the scale, too. I’ve already put on 33 pounds, and I’m only in my 30th week—by the time I hit your milestone, I’ll probably be up another 10. If I can just level out at 50 total by delivery, I’ll consider myself a total winner. My husband was a little twitchy about it at first, but he’s chilled out now. And God forbid he tries comparing me to some super thin pregnant girl; he knows better than to go there. 😲 What your husband said? That's just plain mean. 👎

Seriously, what is wrong with them? You'll probably end up asking yourself the same thing.
They just blurt out whatever nonsense pops into their heads, act like they didn't say anything, and somehow manage to walk away unscathed.

Look, I’m a mom to a two-year-old now, so I can give you guys the straight facts from a totally objective perspective! Honestly, ladies, it’s not just about hormones—you all hit the nail on the head with everything you said. For me, what I think is what matters, period. I didn't let anyone get under my skin when they commented on the 65 pounds I put on during my pregnancy (I eventually lost it all, though I still have that little tummy pooch left over from chasing my toddler around all day). People would be like, "Oh my god, you're eating so much," or "You'll never get that weight back"—like, WTF??? Who cares how much I eat? It's not like I'm counting bites for anyone else!! And don't even get me started on riding the subway... I had endless run-ins there, but I handled them pretty quickly and bluntly. If someone was being rude, I’d just be like, "Excuse me, I'm pregnant!" and they definitely weren't getting a "please" or "thank you" from me if they were acting entitled.
But honestly, the absolute winner was the thing my mother-in-law used to say constantly: "Well, you aren't sick, you're just pregnant." Like, seriously? There were days when it was 100 degrees outside, I was dealing with massive nausea, the AC would trigger my sinus issues instantly, the heartburn was brutal, the mere thought of a burger made my stomach turn, and I was running to the bathroom every fifteen minutes... It really got to me at the time because she’s a mother too, so I figured, "How could she say that? She went through all of this herself!" But nowadays, I just laugh whenever I remember it because I realize she actually had no clue what she was talking about. Now, she’s always telling me, "You're doing such an amazing job raising your son; I never had the patience for mine." So yeah, ladies—it's people like that who give you those negative comments and make things difficult!!!
Just soak up every single second, because the best feeling is yet to come—that moment when you finally lay eyes on your little miracle!!!!
p.s. Something that always caught me by surprise during my pregnancy was how I was suddenly the center of attention. Everyone is so kind, looking at you with these sweet, positive expressions, and random people will just smile at you on the street... Just enjoy being the star for a bit, because once you give birth, it's our little ones who will be stealing the spotlight for the rest of their lives. Every single moment is worth living!!!!!!!

I know you guys are probably going to be pretty annoyed with me for saying this, but please, just hear me out...🙂
To everyone out there who gets upset when people call them fat—please, don't let it get to you so much.😍
I have a close friend who was recently pregnant, and I actually did tell her she looked fat; it wasn't because I was being mean, though. It was honestly just one of those things we say to each other in a joking, affectionate way, and since it’s pregnancy, it’s really one of the few times you can say something like that to a woman without it being taken as a personal attack.😍
I truly believe that when someone just casually mentions you're heavy, they aren't necessarily trying to tear you down. If someone is constantly lecturing you about your weight or obsessing over your scale, then sure, that's annoying, but don't let those comments ruin your mood. Even if you've put on some extra weight during pregnancy, if you're worried about it, you'll lose it after the baby comes, and that'll be that!🤷
Just focus on being happy with yourselves, because at the end of the day, you are bringing your greatest joy into this world—your baby!😍
Personally, nothing really gets under my skin, and I don't think it ever will; I've just always been wired this way. I don't spend much energy worrying about what people have to say; I'll give my two cents, but ultimately, I'm just going to do whatever I feel is best... and that goes for all that unsolicited advice flying around, too.🤣

Honestly, I was a sobbing mess last night myself; my husband managed to get under my skin so badly that we ended up in this massive blowout, and then—well, let's just say things made up quite intensely until about 1:00 AM. Now, I’ve woken up with a splitting headache and a stomach that feels like it’s been through a blender... I think I might have just absorbed a little too much stress over the last few days.

He acted like he was being sweet, like it was just some little joke!!!
Well, after the fifth "joke," it isn't funny anymore!
I guess I am genuinely worried about the weight gain. I have such a small frame, so every extra pound shows up immediately.
I’ll consider myself lucky if I don't hit 175 pounds before I go into labor, 🙏🙏
because right now I’m sitting at 170.

My partner does the same thing sometimes—hurting my feelings under the guise of "just kidding" (though thankfully, it hasn't been about my weight yet—better for him!)—and it's all supposedly in good spirits, but for God's sake, just think for a second about what you're saying and how you're joking.
Especially now that he knows I'm not someone to be trifled with. 🙄

A few days ago my back was killing me—like, I was legit screaming and crying from the pain. I’m telling you, long walks and soaking in a hot tub really did the trick. Every day the pain got a little more manageable. Obviously, the soak was just for the first day, then I just stuck to walking.

And this whole weight thing? They are ALL absolute trash. 😠
Just shove them all into...
Instead of being understanding—I mean, damn, you're pregnant! Not every pregnant woman gains the same amount. Some barely put on 10 pounds, others gain like 70. I know this one girl who gained over 45 pounds and now she actually looks thinner than before she was pregnant, even without the baby. So don't sweat it.
I would seriously lose my mind if my husband was constantly nagging me about my weight.
But, for better or worse, he’s actually obsessed with how my ass and boobs have filled out lately. He isn't usually a fan of super skinny girls (which sucks for him because I love being thin)
And I bet your mom and aunt aren't exactly stick-thin either, and neither is your husband.
That "penguin" comment he made is honestly disgusting.
You're pregnant, it's not the time to be starving yourself. Explain that to him 😠 and to your mom too.

Hmm...
Look, if anyone told me I was fat, I'd go ballistic, no matter how much they claimed it was "out of love."
I am just incredibly sensitive about my weight and gaining mass, not just during pregnancy but all the time.
So if you ever find yourself in a spot like this again, just don't say it. You never know if someone is super sensitive about it like I am, or if they're just being blunt thinking it's coming from a good place.

I honestly don't mind him teasing me one bit... it’s not like he does it every single day, and deep down I know I’m his favorite person anyway 😍 plus, he loves playing the "protector" role. Like, the other day I’m sitting on the floor struggling to tie my sneakers, telling him I just can't do it, and he goes, "Why should you? You're my little princess!" I was seriously dying laughing...
And now, he’s totally obsessed with pregnant women... we were heading out to dinner once, and before we even walked in, he whispers, "Aren't you worried people will think you're just overweight instead of pregnant?" (because, let's be real, I was looking more "bulky" than "expecting" at that moment). I just looked at him and said, "As long as you aren't trying to trick me into a cheaper meal!"
Then, during that same dinner, he couldn't stop staring at this gorgeous pregnant lady, asking me, "Man, when are you gonna have a body like hers???" Honestly, I was cracking up!

The whole point is, you shouldn't take everything so seriously!!!
Except, obviously, for my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law 😂 😂 😂 😂

hahahahahahahaha, let's talk about weight for a second... WATCH THIS!

My partner takes me to the grocery store, and suddenly he remembers at the very last minute that he needs something sweet. He spends the entire trip badgering me, "Come on, you pick something too! Pick one! Which cookies should I get? Do you want this candy bar?" I kept begging him to stop because, honestly, if it were up to me, he could buy every single thing in the aisle and I’d eat it all 🙄 Eventually, I finally settle on just one item. But then, as we're checking out, he stuffs three or four more things onto the conveyor belt. We get home, he heads to the bathroom, and while I'm tidying up the kitchen, I end up snacking on two little candy bars—kind of like Kit-Kats. Later, he walks into the living room, we sit down on the couch, and I casually tell him, "Babe, I ate a chocolate bar... actually, make that two." He just looks at me and goes, "Man, you're seriously going to end up looking like a semi-truck!!!!"

😬

I guess today just isn't my day.
It seems like the more my husband is in high spirits, the worse I feel. The more he’s in the mood to mess around and joke, the more on edge I get. 🤦

Look, I don't care if someone calls me fat—it’s fine, I know I’m sitting right here in the room. But if they start trying to lecture me about my weight? That’s where I draw the line. Honestly, I’ve eaten my fair share of good food to get this way. :zubi:

I just worked myself into a total frenzy. I can't just relax and enjoy being pregnant like I'm supposed to because I'm constantly stressing over every little stupid thing. 😠

For the last few nights, sleep has been impossible. I’m just tossing and turning for hours because my brain won't shut up about a thousand different things that could go wrong. I've got full-blown scenarios playing on loop in my head regarding every possible disaster that could happen during this pregnancy.

Honestly, I'm thinking about asking my OBGYN for some Xanax at my next appointment just so I don't lose my mind. I just want to get this baby out and finally get this weight off my shoulders. 😠 😠

Anyone else dealing with this? Is this just a temporary phase, or am I stuck like this for another 17 weeks before I can finally 🙂

Honestly, I’ve just been so on edge lately... it’s driving me crazy. Either I can’t sleep at all, or I’ll wake up at like 1:30 in the morning and just stare at the ceiling until sunrise, my mind racing with a million stupid little worries. My nerves are just shot—I actually ended up breaking down in tears just from how stressed I was feeling. Everyone kept trying to recommend that Normabell stuff to me like it’s some kind of magic cure-all or a freaking candy bar! But look, honey, it’s not some magic pill; it’s really just about making a pact with yourself. You’ve got to tell yourself, "Okay, stop fighting with yourself," and once you do that, things start to settle. I know, I know, it’s super easy for me to say now that I’m on the other side of it, but it honestly took me a few days to pull myself together and decide that I was going to choose peace, and once I made that choice, it actually worked! It’s all mental, really. Just try to stay positive, because looking back, I realize I didn't let myself enjoy being pregnant nearly enough—I let way too much random stress get under my skin. Don't let it get to you, okay? Try to soak it all in and enjoy it, because this whole experience is such a one-of-a-kind ride!!!!

You all really get under my skin sometimes. For the first three or four months, I was absolutely losing sleep over the constant fear of a miscarriage, and then it just shifted into this endless loop of anxiety: why don't I feel anything? Why am I feeling too much? Is she being too quiet or too active? One minute I’m terrified because she’s been quiet for an hour, and the next I’m spiraling about preterm labor. It feels like there is always some new reason to worry. And let's be honest—you have to prepare yourself for the fact that this doesn't just end; you won't suddenly stop worrying once the baby is actually here.🙂
That being said, try to find a bit of optimism where you can. Just remember—we're all in this together!😉

Ugh, honestly, Normabel isn't the answer here. My doctor put me on it for contractions, but I try to dodge it whenever I possibly can. To be real with you, I think I’ve only actually taken about four pills in the last three weeks, and even then, it was only because things were getting seriously intense.

So, I finally decided to take a Xanax for the very first time in my life. My entire plan was simple: knock it back, drift off into a peaceful slumber, and wake up feeling completely wiped out and emotionally drained. But guess what? Nope! Not happening! It’s like I expected a heavy fog to roll in, but instead, I'm just sitting here wide awake. Total plot twist!
I feel like I’ve been completely off my game lately! Honestly, for the fourth time now, I’ve been totally irritable, picking fights over nothing, and just feeling generally frazzled—I even ended up getting into a huge spat with my husband. I’m sitting here looking at myself like, "WTF is going on?"😕
I was just reading through the fine print on my prescription instructions, and one particular side effect caught my eye: irritability. It’s funny how those little warning labels work, isn't it? You read them and think, "Well, I didn't realize I was signing up for a mood swing!" It’s a bit like buying a high-performance sports car only to find out the engine tends to overheat if you drive it too fast—it works great, but there’s that one specific quirk you have to manage. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of stuff before?😕😕
It seems you might have sent a fragment or a typo! Could you please provide the full text you'd like me to rewrite? I'm ready to dive in and give it that polished, upbeat, and uniquely American flair once I have the source material!😲 I’m just not following... and then there’s that mention of leakage issues—which is exactly what I was dealing with myself!

Hey ladies, thanks for the advice and the support 🙂
It helps knowing I'm not the only one... It's impossible to talk to my husband about this because he just thinks I'm being hysterical and overreacting 😠
I mentioned it to Norma Bob, mostly just joking around out of pure desperation, but I doubt they'd even give them to me—plus, I'd be too terrified to actually take them 😉
I'm fine during the day; I stay busy with a million different things so I don't dwell on the pregnancy or the baby. The worst part is at night when everything goes quiet and the panic starts racing through my head 😲

Merry, I think we're all in the same boat!
I jump at basically every little noise! I try to keep it together as much as I can... but man, some days it’s just a struggle...
And I totally get what you mean about the mood swings... yeah, I also think it's all down to hormones!

I used to get annoyed by this stuff before, but now? I literally want to crawl out of my skin. I can't stand it when people don't know how to eat or chew gum properly—just smacking their lips and making weird noises. Especially when they lick the food off their fingers like some kind of animal after a meal!!! 😠

Merry, I have to admit, I’m feeling a bit anxious too—especially since things have become such a complicated mess on my end. But then again, I’m starting to realize that staying stuck in this negative headspace is only making everything feel ten times heavier.
I finally made a pact with myself: I’m going to do everything within my power, but I am officially done stressing over the stuff that's completely out of my control. It's just not worth the energy.

Instead, I’m trying to focus on the bright side. I find myself daydreaming about all the good stuff—like what the babies will actually look like, or those sunny summer afternoons strolling through Central Park with the stroller, or even picking out names... You really have to flip the script and focus on the positives, otherwise you're just torturing yourself for no reason.
